Chinese New Year Menu 2016: Ee Chinese Cuisine, Eastin Hotel Kuala Lumpur

I am back to my favourite Chinese restaurant for a sumptuous Chinese New Year feast to usher the Year of Monkey. This year, Ee Chinese Cuisine at Eastin Hotel Kuala Lumpur is ready with a great lineup of flavoursome dishes that exquisitely blend both traditional and modern flavours that suit both young and old alike.

Salmon with Rice Cracker Yee Sang

Time to toss for good luck, health and prosperity with the unique concoctions at Ee, such as Live Geoduck Yee Sang, Australian Lobster Yee Sang, Abalone Rice Crackers Yee Sang, and more, priced from RM118 nett onwards per portion. Generously portioned salmon trout, with mildly sweet plum sauce; It is pure simplicity at its best!

One of the signature dishes that make our evening more memorable is the double boiled soup heavily loaded with Chinese herbs and traditional dried scallop which make the warm broth sealed with nutrients and oriental flavours.

Steamed Live Kerai Fish with Superior Soya Sauce

Next up is another crowd's favourite as the simple steamed fish is so perfectly cooked with a little surprise in it. The moist and succulent flesh inside hits the spot, but it is the crisp coating of deep-fried skin on the outside that wows us with an interesting texture.

Roasted Pi Pa Duck

The roasted duck dish is equally noteworthy as it comes with delightfully moist and tender meat, then wrapped in nice crisp skin under a thin layer of fats. The thick special BBQ sauce is bursting with robust sweet-savoury flavour.

Braised Homemade Beancurd, Dried Oyster with Prawns and Vegetables

At Eastin, surprises always come one after another. Apart from fresh prawns, mushrooms, vegetables and large premium oysters, the dish is generously loaded with homemade beancurd which is surprisingly smooth with crisp texture from dried shrimps and water chestnut fillings.

Waxed Meat Rice with XO Sauce

Another classic that you must not miss is the crisp rice with dried shrimps, chunky mushrooms and plenty of waxed duck meat. The fragrant XO sauce adds a modern twist to this rice staple, creating a more aromatic and savoury concoction.

Coconut Pudding

The unique coconut pudding dessert is an amazing treat to end the meal. Served in a coconut shell, the pudding in it is silky smooth and rich in coconut milk flavour. Best enjoyed with the crunchy flesh around the shell.

Not only you will get to enjoy a wonderful Chinese meal here, but also an amazing live band performance themed "Oldies Night" every Thursday evening. Nothing beats the pleasure of enjoying good food with great music.

Overall, it is a wonderful feast with Chef Yong Kam Wah, the Chinese cuisine chef at Ee!
