The HUB @ OUG, KL

We haven't had enough of cafe hopping in OUG yet. One of the latest establishments we visit recently is The HUB, a coffee speciality cafe located just one row behind the main road of this mature neighbourhood.

What distinguishes The HUB from other cafes is its roasting capability in the outlet itself. Patrons entering the cafe will notice a bean roasting machine sitting on the left side of the entrance. While coffee connoisseurs are able to try out over 50 types of beans here, casual drinkers are also offered with the usual coffee staples.

The wide range of medium roast and dark roast coffee originates from all around the world; some are more acidic and fruity while others are bolder and more chocolaty. You can sample the blends at as low as RM12 per cup. These are definitely not what any ordinary cafe can offer.

Ambiance wise, I love how the open-roof area allows bright natural light to penetrate
into the minimalist interior, exuding a comfortable and inviting vibe to the space.

Hot Latte @ RM10

A less adventurous coffee drinker like myself can easily be satisfied with a warm cup of latte. It exudes bolder aroma and dark chocolaty notes with thicker consistency than the usual lattes I have. I personally find it more acceptable even for non-coffee lovers.

T2 Gorgeous Geisha @ RM10

A wide selection of Australian T2 teas is available in the house, and first timer should try the Gorgeous Geisha, a fruity blend of green tea and strawberries drizzled in cream. Definitely a refreshing sweet treat that is best paired with any light, fruity dessert.

Big Stan @ RM25

If you're feeling hungry, do check out the newly revamped food menu that features brunch sets, pasta, pizza and light snack. We order a big breakfast platter and the portion does not disappoint at all; Simply perfect for sharing!

Love the great combination of chicken jumbo sausage, turkey ham, scrambled egg, sauteed mushroom with capsicum, mixed salad, grilled tomato, baked bean, green spinach, fries and toasted focaccia bread!

Seafood Marinara @ RM25

Served with a garlic toast, the pasta is flavour-packed and you will get the joy of a spicy and sweet flavour. Again, seafood such as squids, prawns and mussels are very well-portioned.

When you need something sweet to hit the spot, The HUB offers a variety of dainty cakes and sweet pastries at the counter. For hot dessert menu, there is only a sweet waffle at the moment.

Sweet Waffle @ RM15

Generously drizzled with chocolate sauce and maple syrup, the crisp waffle is well-topped with creamy peanut butter sauce. Each bite yields a nice crunch, and goes well with a scoop of Oreo vanilla ice cream.

Salted Caramel Mille Crepe @ RM13

Among the cakes, the almond salted caramel mille crepe is one of their best crowd pleasers. Its sweetness is counterbalanced by subtle saltiness. Great as a companion to unwind after a long day.

Verdict:
1. Definitely an ideal playground to experiment with different tasting beans and take home with you a well of knowledge about coffee!
2. Personally, it is a nice quiet and cosy space for conversations over coffee.
3. Recommended: Latte, Big Stan
