Review: URIAGE Eau Thermal French Skincare

It has been a while since my last surprise from HiShop Malaysia. Guess what’s inside the box this round? If you do not already know, HiShop is an online shopping platform for a wide variety of beauty products.

Today’s review is all about URIAGE Eau Thermale, a French brand which is famed for its Uriage Thermal Water. It is certainly a powerful ingredient that passes through the depths of French Alps and is enriched with trace elements and minerals. The high mineral concentrations in Uriage Thermal Water becomes “perfectly balanced” for the skin and is able to soothe, hydrate and protect skin well.

The unique water also restores the skin barrier, allowing more effective protection against external aggressions while maintaining the skin’s hydration. Therefore, it is widely used as the main ingredient of all URIAGE products!

URIAGE Thermal Micellar Water (100ml)

In the Uriage 3-step travel pack, we have 3 essential products for cleansing and soothing the skin. So firstly I begin my skincare regime with makeup removal using the Thermal Micellar Water. It is something great for those who are lazy to remove makeup after a long day out, because no rinsing is required after using this gentle thermal water to remove makeup and cleanse face and eyes.

What are actually inside the Uriage Thermal Micellar Water? At the heart of the formulas, there are 2 things:

1. Micelles:
❤ Trap makeup
❤ Cleanse skin

2. Uriage Thermal Water:
❤ Reinforce the cutaneous barrier
❤ Hydrate intensely
❤ Protect skin
❤ Soothe sensations of tightness

How to Use: Soak product with cotton pad and gently wipe over

the face, eyes and neck to cleanse in a single step, without rinsing. 

Tips: Complete the eye make-up removal with the Waterproof Eye Make-up Remover.

Uriage Thermal Micellar Water is currently available in 3 kinds to cater for different skin types:
1. Thermal Micellar Water - Combination to Oily Skin
2. Thermal Micellar Water PNS - Normal to Dry Skin
3. Thermal Micellar Water PSR - Skin prone to redness

As my skin is generally sensitive, I opt for the 3rd variant that works well on my skin. To be honest, I am happy that it actually does a great job in removing all traces of my foundation makeup, leaving the skin perfectly cleansed. This product makes me believe that only fresh and clean complexion radiates with health. It feels like water on the skin, so soothing and effective in removing impurities. 

I find it so easy to use Uriage Thermal Micellar Water in my daily facial hygiene routine. 

If you can’t stand the stickiness of oil / gel based remover, this is a great option to go for.

URIAGE Creme Lavante (Cleansing Cream) (50ml)

After removing makeup, the next step is of course cleansing. For my sensitive skin type, I always opt for something milder (less oily) and preferably not drying to the skin. URIAGE cleanser is more of anourishing and cleansing cream which is mainly made of the signature Uriage Thermal Water.

How to Use: Lather well on damp skin and then rinse, during both day and night.

As it has a gentle soap-free cleansing base, I find that the cleanser does not lather much (even when I use it with a facial foaming net). Alternatively, you can apply the cleansing cream directly onto wet face.

Nevertheless, it helps to cleanse deeply into the pores without feeling dry on the skin.

URIAGE Thermal Water (50ml)

After cleansing, just tone and hydrate your face with sprays of Uriage Thermal Water over the face and leave it to act – No need to pat dry. Finally, just apply your usual skincare products to achieve the smooth, fresh complexion everyday.

As it is purely made of 100% Aqua and Uriage Thermal Water, it can work wonders on the skin in several ways, be it as a dermo-cosmetic treatment or as a daily skincare treatment:

❤ Soothe irritation, nappy rash, sunburn, redness
❤ Repair damaged skin and soothe skin after dermo-aesthetic procedures
❤ Soothe and relieve dermatitis of the eyelids

How to Use: Spray on as often as you feel the need to. Leave it on to act.

You don’t need to dry or wipe off the thermal water to boost the penetration of the active ingredients, as it will penetrate into the skin on its own. As for me, I would bring it along each time I go travelling as it is a great skin hydrator while on the go.

Review: Mask House Diamond V Fit Mask for Fat Burning & Slimming

Today's beauty review is about this very popular Korean slimming mask from Mask House (Facebook: www.facebook.com/maskhousemsia) which many international celebrities and beauty TV shows have been raving about. Deemed as Asia's Number 1 Magic V-shape Mask, finally I get to try mine which I got from HiShop Malaysia.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Suitable for: All skin types.

Recommended for: Those who want V-shape face.

Content:  5 Diamond V Fit Mask fat burning masks and 1 Korean slimming band.

HOW TO USE

STEP 1: After cleansing, remember to measure the circumferences of the face (from the points below earlobe on your left to your right). The measuring tape can be found inside the packaging.

STEP 2: Unfold the mask sheet and place the larger parts on cheeks and smaller parts around the upper neck. Just make sure it sits firmly on the face before putting on the slimming band.

The mask is very thick and slightly sticky, as it contains BodyFit essence that requires the pressure from the Slimming Band to improve absorption of nutrients into the cheeks, improve blood circulation and reduce the swelling of the jaw and chin areas.

It is also made of Q10 Coenzyme to reduce the appearance of deep neck wrinkles on the neck. At the same time, it helps to firm up and enhance the V shape of the face, resulting in more elastic and younger skin. Great for those with double chin and round face.

STEP 3: Wear the slimming band (with the colored part facing outwards) and fix it under the chin. Although the shape of our face is different from another, I am surprised that the slimming band fits comfortably onto mine. Plus, it is reusable.

For the first time, I feel a little tight and uncomfortable initially, but after few minutes, I start to get used to it. I think wearing it tight will be more effective :P

STEP 4: Adjust each hole for the ears and fasten it firmly over the top of the head.

STEP 5: Leave it on for 30-40 minutes.

It feels slightly warm with tingling sensation for the first few minutes, and the feeling goes off slowly. Then I can really feel the tightening effect as it starts to "pull" my skin inwards. But don't worry, it doesn't feel uncomfortable on the face.

STEP 6: Remove mask, and massage the essence into skin till fully absorbed. 

STEP 7: Remeasure the circumference and compare the difference.

Mine was 23.6cm initially, and after the mask, it reduces to 22.9cm! A reduction of 0.7cm may seem insignificant, but it definitely makes the face look slimmer and more "V" in shape! Also, it helps to effectively improve skin elasticity too. You can use it every 2-3 days for better result.

I wanna say goodbye to wrinkles, baby fat, double chin and fatty cheeks!

Verdict:

My personal experience with V Fit Mask is amazing, I am so surprised by its immediate result after my first time use. I personally think that it is useful to use it before attending important event or photoshooting, to give a slimmer complexion instantly.

Review: DEOPROCE Korea Snail Galac-toc Revital Skincare: Toner, Emulsion, Cream

Hi babes! Today's beauty review is solely on a Korean skincare brand called Deoproce. I am not sure if you have heard of it but apparently it seems popular in Korea, especially this Snail Galac-toc Revital series which I got it from HiShop Malaysia.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

DEOPROCE Snail Galac-tox Revital 5-step skincare collection uses the special snail secretion filtrate, which is effective to improve skin texture, form a protective film and moisturize skin, resulting in healthy and supple skin.

Galactomyces Ferment filtrate which is made with natural fermented yeast supplies rich nutrition and skin balance to add gloss and dew to the skin. Also infused with Volufiline, a patented ingredient which is effective in improving skin elasticity and softness. 

5-step to revitalize skin: Toner, Emulsion, Night Cream, Eye Cream and Sleeping Pack. 

 Deoproce Snail Galac-Tox Revital Toner (130ml)  @ RM99.90

After cleansing, always begin with generous amount of toner and pat lightly to absorb. This toner is slightly thicker than liquid, as it is rich in highly condensed snail mucus that makes skin smooth and moist. After toning, the skin appears softer and plump. Goodbye to dead skin cells and wrinkles too.

Deoproce Snail Galac-Tox Revital Emulsion (130ml)  @ RM99.90

Then we seal the skin moisture using this highly condensed snail mucus emulsion that enhances shine and improves coarse and dry skin texture. Volufiline in the emulsion aids in improvement of skin elasticity, alleviating wrinkles. Suitable for both day and night. 

Texture wise, it has a lightweight lotion-like consistency that feels soothing on the skin.

After gently spreading a thin layer over the skin, remember to massage lightly for maximum absorption. 

 Deoproce Snail Galac-Tox Revital Cream (50g) @ RM119.00

What not to be missed is this revital cream which is used as a Night Cream. Thanks to its snail nutritional elements, it is important to enhance skin elasticity and moisture, to slowly firm and smoothen the skin after an extended period of using it. 

Do you know that snails recover damaged shells on their own? So, by including the extracts of snail's formidable recovering energy in snail mucin, this cream can be said powerful for its repairing properties. The texture is quite thick, so I only use a little and spread all over the skin.

Verdict:

My personal experience with Deoproce is quite pleasant, considering its nice texture and ease of application on the skin. This series is a good bargain, as the price is reasonable and well-suited for my dry skin.

Review: IN STYLER Ceramic Hot Brush and Flat Iron Pro

I am sure you have heard of various hair styling products that are much raved about, but not sure which to invest in, since they are generally not cheap. In fact, only few are able to perform well without causing much damage to the hair.

As for me, I also have this dilemma of getting a good value-for-money hair styler until I try the magical IN STYLER Ceramic Hot Brush and Flat Iron Pro which I got it from HiShop Malaysia.

My favourite feature is still its Cool Touch Bristles technology, meaning you can style with complete control, no burning of fingers, ears, or forehead! You can try to touch the tong, it's only slightly warm, not the conventional burning hot type. After using it, there will be no burns or tangles and most importantly, the hair looks healthy and voluminous.

Verdict:

1. My personal experience with the IN STYLER salon styler is pretty good. Since my hair is naturally short, and I use the curler from mid-length till end, the waves created are exactly what I want :) It adds nice body to the hair in just a matter of minutes. 

2. It is easy and ultra quick to be used! And I love how convenient it is to switch from curling brush to flat iron, and both work great for me. 

3. No complaints about this. I love it!

Review: CLIO Cushion CC, Pen Liner Kill Black, Lipnicure

CLIO, a popular hit among the Asians, is better known as the No.1 Korea Eyeliner Brand. It is a line of Korean makeup created by makeup artists, currently available at major drugstores and online shops. Thanks to HiShop Malaysia, this is my first time trying out this brand and playing with all their best-selling items! 

For the face, eyes and lips...

Clio VF21 Cushion C.C 002 Beige @ RM119.90 RM89.90 

Let's begin the makeup on the face using this multifunctional 5-in-1 CC cream-- Whitening, wrinkle repairing, UV blocking, smooth coverage, and moisturizing radiance. As though it is not perfect yet, I'm happy that it can conceal the open pores yet doesn't dry up the skin as it comes in a almost-gel-like creamy texture that moisturizes the skin.

Yay! My uneven skin tone due to long exposure to the sun can now be corrected using this CC cream, and I'm glad that it comes in 2 bright shades (Pink & Beige) that fit almost all Asian skin tones! No worries, it won't appear too 'white' on the skin as it blends well into it.

Frankly, I've tried the similar product from Laneige and Etude House, but I love the CLIO CC Cushion for its more fluid texture that stays on the skin without feeling heavy. On top of that, it is cheapest among all 3 brands! 

Look, my skin has become fairer and smoother after using CLIO Cushion CC! 

So compact, and convenient to bring around, it is great for touch-up anytime anywhere.

If you want a more lasting effect, just set it with powder to have a smooth, radiant complexion :)

Step to use:
1. Open a built-in cap and press the sponge applicator onto the spongy layer of the product to 'soak' it with CC cream (But remember, not too much ya!)
2. Apply a thin layer onto your cheeks, forehead and chin, by patting outwards.
3. Spread to the face border smoothly, to ensure it doesn't become cakey.

Clio Professional Waterproof Pen Liner - Kill Black @ RM55.90 RM45.80

Eye makeup is another form of art. I'm surprised with the effect of the ultra black waterproof liquid eyeliner enhancing our dark Asian iris, creating dramatic eyes in just one stroke.

The best thing about it is its beautiful brush-- its density, sharpness and texture are designed to perfection. It is not too soft that that it goes all over the unintended places, and not too rigid so that it pokes the eyelid.

Of course I love the precise, ultra-fine tapered tip that makes drawing easier, almost effortlessly! However, it would be a perfect liquid liner if it can last longer. Disappointingly the liner smudges after a 4-hour wear.

Clio Virgin Kiss Lipnicure - 007 Tension Red @ RM55.90 RM44.90

Kissproof, waterproof and touchproof-- It's the tagline of CLIO lipnicure that looks and feels like a nail polish. All you need to do is to stroke the intense red color onto your lips like a nail polish. I love how bold and beautiful the shade is. Plus, it comes in so many exciting colors!! I wanna collect them all ♥♥

Look at the vivid color collection, just like manicure!

Made with premium rosehip oil, argan oil and jojoba oil, how can I not love the moisture it gives to the lips? The creamy, vibrant finish on the lips match well with the natural Asian skin tones to create a brighter complexion.

Step To Use:
1. Apply Lipnicure all over lips thinly at once.
2. Remain an open mouth for 30 seconds until Lipnicure dries completely like manicure.
3. Finally, apply top coat such as lip gloss to add shine to the vibrant, plump lips.

You must be wondering why CLIO wants to design it like a nail polish. It's simply because the long-lasting effect is comparable to nail polish, it just won't smudge or highly resistant against sweat and water.

My Verdict:

Overall, I love the combination of matte cushion CC cream and chilli red lipnicure that makes my skin looks fairer and more glowing! :) My impression on CLIO cosmetics is pretty good, and I'd definitely return to HiShop and add my cosmetics collection ♥
