Can’t wait to check out for the Thai handmade fabrics, fashion items, beauty products,
furniture pieces, home décor, unique handicrafts and mouth-watering Thai food there!

Themed “Urban Lifestyle” this year, the Thailand Week is not something new to us. It was first launched in 2009 by the Department of International Trade Promotion under Thailand's Ministry of Commerce, to promote the collaborations / partnerships among Thai and Malaysian entrepreneurs.

The 9th installment of Mini Thailand Week this year is a mainstay annual event that not just facilitates Malaysia-Thailand bilateral trade, but also enhances international exposure to Thai culture and traditions.

Mini Thailand Week 2016 - Performance by Payoon Noi, a 3-piece band from Thailand

Apart from shopping, this is going to be an eye-opening event for me too. In addition to Mini Thailand Week's signature Business Matching Session for importers and traders, another highlight would be the wooden art board painting demonstration by Thailand's well-known artist, Mr Tanupon En-On.

Although I miss the 3-piece band performance last year, I will definitely catch this year's painting demo using E-Sarn murals technique in vibrant acrylic colours on canvas paintings by Mr Tanupon.

If you are interested, just purchase a wooden board at RM20, and Mr Tanupon himself will guide you on how to paint using the technique! Cool experience, right? You can bring home your artwork as a souvenir too :)

Those who post their finished board on the Mini Thailand Week's Facebook page with the hashtag #minithailandweek2017 will receive a special surprise from the Department of International Trade Promotion!

Here are some of the snippets from last year's exhibition; Are you excited for it yet?

Traditional Thai Performances and more exciting activities await at Mini Thailand Week 2017.
