De Centrum Mall, Your Next Neighbourhood Mall in Kajang

Hello, it's me at De Centrum Mall's Grand Opening event!

Good news for those residing around Kajang / Bangi area! Protasco Berhad has recently launched its neighbourhood retail hub, De Centrum Mall, within its 100-acre De Centrum City development in Kajang.

De Centrum Mall is located right next to Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN) and Infrastructure University Kuala Lumpur (IUKL). Hence, it is an ideal hangout place for the university students.

Currently, this neighbourhood mall has a good mix of F&B outlets, convenience stores, IT stores, entertainment, appliances and general household stores. One of the anchor tenants that you shouldn’t miss here is the supermarket chain Super Seven which occupies about 38,000 sq ft of prime supermarket space in the mall.

During the grand opening, we have also witnessed the signing of Letter of Intent between De Centrum and Carlson Hotels, a renowned hotel group from the U.S. They have proudly announced that the first Park Inn by Radisson, a 3-star hotel will open in De Centrum City in 2020!

Carlson Hotels' representative, Andreas Flaig is signing the Letter of Intent as a prelude
to the hotel development services and management agreements to be signed later.

Dato' Sri Ir Chong Ket Pen, Protasco's Group Managing Director and Executive Vice Chairman is there to grace the signing ceremony, followed by a ribbon cutting ceremony at the front entrance of the mall.

Congratulations for the grand opening of De Centrum Mall!

Also during the grand opening celebration, there are lots of activities exclusively held for the guests who join the fun with their families and friends. For instance, the amazing Dinosaur Shows have gathered the attention from hundreds of parents and children in the mall.

SPP Book Store is located at Level 1 of the mall.

Another highlight of the grand opening is the official launch of SPP Book Agency, a one-stop centre for books and stationery. And there are plenty of ongoing special offers / promotions during this period too.

The second ribbon cutting ceremony of the day is for the bookstore.

At the event, Protasco also showcases its other development projects such as the De Centrum Unipark Condominium, as well as two other projects - the Sentrio Business Centre in Pasir Gudang, Johor and D'Perdana, a new condominium project in Telipot, Kelantan.

Here's the directory of the mall. Feel free to visit De Centrum Mall at:
Jalan Ikram-Uniten, Kawasan Institusi Bangi, Kajang.
(Next to UNITEN and IUKL)

De Centrum City, the New Real Estate Hot Spot in 2017

De Centrum, the latest project under Dato’ Sri Chong Ket Pen
Tomorrow's City. Here Today.

When you reach a certain age, you'd think about owning a property. Be it for investment or for personal living, it is an important decision in life so it is necessary to spend some time in visiting property show rooms and understanding the development project.

The recent one I visit is the De Centrum City in Kajang, located within the vicinity of two huge universities-- Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN) and Infrastructure University Kuala Lumpur (IUKL).

Dato' Sri Chong is explaining about De Centrum City masterplan to the public.

The leader behind this huge project by Protasco Berhad is Dato’ Sri Chong Ket Pen, the Executive Vice Chairman and Group Managing Director and Co-founder of Protasco Berhad. Feel free to check out his profile at my.linkedin.com/in/chong-ket-pen.

So we are at De Centrum City Sales Gallery to check out this place. If you do not already know, De Centrum City is a 100-acre free mixed development located south of Kuala Lumpur, intersected by 4 major highways such as Besraya, SILK, SKVE and North South Expressway.

Apart from the easy accessibility and strategic location, I personally like the fact that it is located near Kajang, Putrajaya, Bangi, Cyberjaya and Serdang which are pretty near to my current home.

I thought the nearest shopping mall from here is probably IOI City Mall, but I was wrong. De Centrum City actually has its very own De Centrum Mall, a boutique neighbourhood mall. Currently, more than 70% of the mall has been tenanted, while the remaining will open their doors by mid 2017.

With a mix of tenants such as supermarkets, food and beverages outlets, convenience stores, and entertainment outlets, I am sure this is a great solution for those staying nearby to get the daily necessities.

Apart from the mall, the master plan of De Centrum City includes serviced apartments, Soho, condominium, academic block and shops. To date, only 15% of the development is completed including the mall. The rest of the components will be completed in a period of 10-15 years.

Currently, the development focuses on a phase of affordable condominiums and lifestyle suites for the millennials at a very reasonable price. And I am eyeing on De Centrum Unipark Condominium which is roughly 1,300 sqft in size, with 4 bedrooms and 4 washrooms (Each room has its personal bathroom!) here.

Here's the floor plan. Now let's take a look at the show house.

Spacious living area that can easily fit big sofa sets and other luxurious furnishings.

A modern and compact kitchen is recommended to maximise the space usage.

Take a look at the huge Master Bedroom!

From living and dining spaces to the bedrooms, I can see the space is aplenty for a comfortable living. Each room will not appear to be too cramp, and it is extra useful for students who want to enjoy a more conducive environment studying here.

With so many amenities and facilities around, I think it is worth considering your next investment in De Centrum City. If you are interested, do check out other developments by Protasco Berhad at www.protasco.com.my.

Palladium Cafe Kuala Lumpur @ EcoWorld Gallery, Jalan Ipoh

If you are a fan of Jay Chou (周杰伦), surely you'd have seen this beautiful cafe scene that appears in his music video, Hand-written Past 《手写的从前》. Recreating the same wooden cafe with full-length panel glass exterior from the MV, Palladium Cafe has been really popular in Johor Bahru, and I'm glad that it finally opens another outlet in KL (by different management)!

The little glass house is located within EcoSky, the latest development site by EcoWorld. Unfortunately it is surrounded by few construction blocks, otherwise it would look lovelier in pictures.

Nevertheless, every angle of the cafe is equally picture worthy and exudes a sense of uniqueness on its own.

Well, don't forget to take as many pictures as you want, to make your trip here worthy,
(because I spent an hour travelling there from home!)

The mini garden surrounding the cafe is great for pictures, as well as for the cafe customers to sit around and enjoy a cuppa under the natural, brightly-lit ambiance, albeit the heat of midday sun.

Stepping into the cafe, it is indeed a relief from the scorching sun as the interior is fully equipped with strong air conditioning. Palladium Cafe serves only coffee and non-coffee beverages as well as cakes, from La Casa in Mont Kiara.

Dark Chocolate @ RM12.00
Iced coffee will be the perfect thirst quencher there, but I opt for warm dark chocolate on a day I was not feeling well.
This classic drink is just nice as it strikes a good balance of sweetness.

At the mini cake display counter, I notice several types of dainty desserts such as Raspberry Cheesecake, Lemon Tart, Chocolate Mousse, and even Snowman that fits perfectly into the theme of this festive season.

Opera Cake @ RM13.00
Hot Premium Picked Tea @ RM11.00

My partner in crime had a cup of hot tea, which the barista claimed as earl grey tea
but we were rather disappointed as it just tasted like Boh teabag.

The opera cake, on the other hand, was lovely as the soft almond sponge cake soaked in coffee syrup exuded distinctive coffee aroma when layered with chocolate ganache and coffee buttercream. It was not too sweet for my liking too.

Prices stated above exclude 6% GST, so feel free to drop by for some Instagram-worthy shots and a cup of coffee on a lazy afternoon or evening if you prefer a less sunny weather.
