I have been drinking a lot of coffee at work, and until recently switching to a full work-from-home, I realise I need some good coffee to keep me going every day. That's when I start to stock up plenty of Aik Cheong Coffee because it is just so handy, delicious and comes with a wallet-friendly price tag.

This instant drink is super easy to prepare - in just 1-2-3 steps! Each box comes with a complete 6 sets (sachet with premix, toppings, and brown sugar), each item individually packed so you can choose to add or adjust the ingredients based on your preference. For instance, I prefer to skip the brown sugar for less sweet coffee.

IT'S SIXPACK - Chocolate Marshmallow

(Chocolate premix, marshmallow and brown sugar)

Hot chocolate is always best stress reliever ever! Just mix the chocolate premix with 220ml hot water and then let the marshmallow melt in the rich chocolaty concoction. You can adjust the amount of brown sugar according to your liking.

IT’S SIXPACK - Cappuccino Choco Topping

(Cappuccino premix, choco toppings and brown sugar)

Another favourite of mine is the cappuccino which I get to enjoy it at home with a dash of chocolate powder topping just like how it is usually served in cafes.

As you can see from the video above, just mix the cappuccino premix with 220ml hot water and garnish with choco topping. If you like a sweeter version of cappuccino, feel free to add some brown sugar.  

IT’S SIXPACK - White Coffee Salted Gula Melaka

Something closer to the local Malaysian flavour is the rich concoction of creamy, authentic white coffee and deep smoky caramelised taste of salted gula Melaka. I am delighted that the taste is so well-balanced. Plus, Gula Melaka is a wholesome sugar naturally low in GI, definitely a healthier alternative for coffee lovers.

It only requires 2 steps to prepare - so easy peasy! Mix the coffee premix with 220 ml hot water, stir well and don't forget to add the freeze dried coffee for a burst of coffee flavours.

Lastly, IT'S SIXPACK allows us to prepare a good cup of teh tarik with that beautiful layer of foam, in the comforts of our home. It is very interesting to add crunchy Nata de Coco into the teh tarik, as it adds texture to the overall beverage. Delicious!

How To Make Yourself The Best Cup Of Coffee

Having a cup of coffee is an integral part of my morning routine as it sets the tone for the rest of the day. Whether hot or cold, it is difficult to imagine a world without coffee.

Plus, coffee has a number of health benefits too. It stimulates your mind, boosts your energy and reduces the risk of strokes. Some of the nutrients contained in it include vitamin B5, B12 and B3. Despite of its growing popularity, it is amazing that only 2/3 of us know how to make it the right way. 

There are many things that go into making a perfect cup of coffee and missing even one of them can make you fall short.

Back to cafe hopping mode! ❤ It has been a while since I last explore the latest cafe trends in town, but guess what? This round, I am here at The Library Coffee Bar for lunch and unexpectedly found something new that is worth checking out for!

The Library Coffee Bar outlet in 1 Utama Shopping Mall is the most spacious one I have been to so far. Indeed a great spot to chill with friends after shopping, or spend some "me" time here by reading the books available on the racks. 

  

*NEW* Dirty Sunrise Beverages

Our initial thought of getting a cup of latte quickly vanishes as soon as we see the newly introduced beverages in conjunction to the festive season: OJ-Coffee series (iced / slush) that comes in a dash of orange - CNY festive color!

OJ Coffee (Slush) @ RM12.90

I know some of you may prefer coffee as your morning pick-me-up, while others may opt for orange juice. Now, The Library Coffee Bar allows us to enjoy the best of both worlds! OJ Coffee Slush is a refreshing ice-blended concoction of orange juice and coffee that exudes the light fruity flavours with hints of bitterness down the throat. Suitable for both coffee and non-coffee lovers. 

Popping Affogato @ RM9.90

Another new item that reminds me of Chinese New Year is the Popping Affogato, because of its "popping effect" as soon as the handcrafted espresso is poured upon my childhood favourite Popping Candy and vanilla ice cream. Every sip is just heavenly! 

Another noteworthy point is the generous scoop of ice cream (It's tall like a mountain!) served along with 2 additional packets of popping candy. Don't say I didn't warn you, the popping effect may be a little messy ya :P But you'd definitely enjoy it! 

Apart from the two new coffee-based inventions, here you also get to enjoy your coffee

with a wide array of light bites such as sandwiches, pasta and waffles.

 

Creamy Pumpkin Pasta @ RM15

My lunch of the day - spicy pumpkin cream-based pasta - is something I find more interesting than the classic bolognese, carbonara or pesto. It tastes more of spicy carbonara to me, which I personally enjoy especially when paired with simple ingredients like chicken, tomato and cheese. Portion and price wise, I have no complaints at all. 

Berries Waffle @ RM15

Our dessert is the show stopper of the day. To my delight, the waffle gives a crisp biting texture at the edges and does not turn soggy despite of the overzealous application of sweet berries sauce. Similarly, the scoop of ice cream is bigger than expected. Lovin' every bite of it! 

There are plenty of light bite options for those who are always on-the-go too.
