Review: Bloommaze Boutique Hotel, Bandar Puteri Puchong

It's year end and therefore time for school holiday again! I miss those school days where my parents would bring me for vacation and spend our holiday away from home. Now it's my turn to bring them for holiday.

Recently, we have our weekend staycation in Bloommaze Boutique Hotel, located in the vibrant neighbourhood of Bandar Puteri Puchong. Although it is just a quick getaway for us to have some family bonding time while enjoying great stay and good food, the time spent with family is always the most precious.

If you're planning to bring your children / family / friends to KL for vacation or perhaps for business purposes, Bloommaze is actually an ideal place to stay, considering the strategic location, contemporary boutique concept, and excellent comfort that makes you feel like being at home away from home.

Location:
❤ Bloommaze is surrounded by plenty of restaurants, beauty parlours, hypermarket etc
❤ Nearest places to shop, sip and dine such as Setiawalk and IOI mall are only 10 minutes drive away
❤ Easy access to public transportation - Puchong LRT station is just 10 minutes walk away
❤ A short ride (10-15km) will bring you to Sunway Pyramid Mall, Sunway Lagoon Theme Park, Bukit Jalil National Stadium and Subang Parade
❤ Convenient to go anywhere via major highways such as Kesas, Federal, NKVE, and LDP.

From the main road, you can easily see the pink signage of Bloommaze,
right opposite the famous Foo Hing Dim Sum restaurant.

You'll notice the iconic London red phone booth from the outside too.
And it is not just for decor purposes! You can actually go in and order your coffee for takeaway.

Bloommaze's boutique concept is something I am really excited about. The rooms carry the price of a budget hotel, but the hotel standard and experience are far beyond that. I love how every nook and corner of Bloommaze is tastefully designed and decorated with contemporary furniture and fittings.

Look at the lobby/reception area, the comfy space with British Union Jack furniture is so Instagram-worthy right!

More Instagram-worthy decors in the lobby :)

Spotted: Meeting room for business travelers.

Hotel Directory: There is a hair saloon and cafe in the same building.

The standard check-in time is 2pm, but early check-in is subject to the availability of the room. We do a quick and easy check-in around 1.30pm, then we head straight up to our room on the 3rd floor.

Although Bloommaze is a shoplot-converted hotel, the security here is pretty tight. We have to use the room access card to enter into the walkway of the hotel, before arriving at our room.

The Family Suite
There are 6 types of rooms available for solo travellers, couples and families to choose from:
❤ Solo Room
❤ Standard Twin Room
❤ Deluxe Queen Room
❤ Executive Queen Room
❤ Executive Triple Room
❤ The Suite

*Rooms are priced from RM95 to RM228 per night, depending on season / availability.

As we walk along the hallway, we notice that every room is painted with different colors on the door. It actually indicates the color scheme of each room. It can be blue, red, green or black and white. Totally a fun, colorful and mood lifting concept!

Mine is a family suite with two king-sized beds, large living area (with sofa, LCD TV and table) and a connecting door to a double-bed room next door (in case if you come with a big family).

Who doesn't love spacious room like this, especially for kids? If you are travelling with children, I am sure they would enjoy roaming around there.

The amenities in the room are pretty basic -- Air-conditioning, free WiFi, phone, LCD TV, coffee/tea making facilities, electric kettles, free water, mini fridge and in-room safe. Ironing board is available at the walkway on a sharing basis, whereas hair dryer is available only upon request.

As for the bathroom, there is a spacious en suite shower area with water heater, and again it is very spacious. You may want to get complimentary toothbrushes from the hotel lobby yourself or dial 0 to get the receptionist to send them over to your room.

The overall cleanliness of the room is decent. My favourite part of the room is the elegant and minimalist interior in black and white hues. Whenever I go travelling, I always pray that the hotel I booked is comfortable and makes me feel like home. And Bloommaze has done a good job on this point.

It is truly a relaxing staycation as we adjourn to the common couch area later in the afternoon for some pictures (again, it’s Instagram-worthy!). If you prefer, there are some reading materials available for you to spend some quiet time with the books.

Right next to the common area is an open-air balcony where you can take a puff since the smoking in the hotel rooms is not allowed. The vibes are extra warm and lively in the evening, thanks to the light bulbs in the background.

In-Room Afternoon Tea
Afternoon Tea Set for 2 (RM45)

Did I forget to mention that room service is available too? The great hospitality is undeniable here and we have opted for our Afternoon Tea Set for 2 (RM45) to be sent to our room so that we can just chill in the room and enjoy with greater privacy.

The high tea set comes with a two-tiered pastry-dessert tray plus a pot of tea for two. On the savoury side, we have sandwiches and sausage skewers. Whereas for the sweets, all the tarts, muffins and chocolates come in pair.

The Breakfast
The Bloom Cafe, located at Level 1 of Bloommaze Hotel

On the next morning, we totally don’t have to worry about our breakfast as we have gotten them covered at The Bloom Cafe. The breakfast is complimentary for room bookings made directly from Bloommaze official website, otherwise it is available at a surcharge.

Premium Breakfast for 2

We have the Premium Breakfast Set - Classic Big Breakfast Set and Chicken Ham and Cheese Croissant Sandwich - that comes with complimentary coffee / tea. But if you prefer something local, Nasi Lemak breakfast is available too, upon pre-ordering only.

Our hearty breakfast is very well-portioned and it satisfies our tummy well. In fact, The Bloom Cafe is open to the public as well. I don’t mind coming back for the latte and croissant.

One thing you must try here is the Blooming Flower Tea. The flower "blooms"
when mixed with hot water, exuding a scent of sweetness and refreshing tang.

Overall Verdict:
1. Although the hotel is pretty basic, because Bloommaze offers 5-star comfort and fun experience yet at a budget price that you probably can't get elsewhere.
2. Personally, the main reason I choose Bloommaze is because of the size and design of the spacious family suite that is ideal for family getaway, parties, etc.
