Map's Cafe: New Menu @ Bandar Sunway, PJ

I still remember my beautiful Sunday morning spent at That Latte Place tucked along Jalan Ampang under a lush garden view with ample sunlight. It has been a few months since they shifted over to Bandar Sunway and renamed it as Map's.

Locating this cafe is a little tricky because it is hidden behind the Petron station on the same row as Sunway Pyramid. Waze isn't really helpful this time, but I manage to find my way with the help of the road signboards.

Upon stepping foot into the cosy interior of this cafe, the rectangular space offers an overall relaxed and homey ambiance with its beautifully chic and contemporary setting.

I heard that the menu has now been expanded since last month to cater for more varieties, so I am here to try out their signature food. Unfortunately to date, Map's one and only cake selection is the Gula Melaka Cotton Cheesecake (RM11), I hope they expand their dessert menu soon!

Triathlon Awesome Mix
Bike (Dragonfruit + Honeydew + Lychee) @ RM10 // Swim (Grape + Watermelon +  Blackberry) @ RM10

Due to the overdose of coffee lately, we decide to go for the healthy options on the menu instead. Triathlon Awesome Mix serves great as a morning vitamins booster as it is made of 3 types of fruits being blended freshly into a healthy concoction. The taste is very refreshing, and totally sugarless!

 Map's Porkballs (6 pieces) @ RM15

A must-try signature dish! Served with slow cooked brown stock herbed gravy, roasted potatoes and salad, the meatballs are well-seasoned, not too salty but very richly-infused with flavours. The potatoes crunches in the mouth and goes well with the many flavours accompanying the pork, a filling and satisfying meal indeed.

Most importantly, the texture is so beautiful that it gives the right amount of chewiness without being too soft or mushy. It's simply comforting and pleasing for the crowd!

Baked Eggs @ RM15

The usual me would pick Egg Benny here, but Baked Eggs is a nice variation that is worth a try,
as it is also topped with a poached egg with beautifully runny egg yolk.

I prefer calling it an "Egg Pizza" for its generous toppings of mushrooms, bacons, caramelised onions and potatoes. Savour it while it's hot!

 Bacon Bruschetta @ RM13

Pork lovers just can't resist the porkilicious menu here. I wanna try the bed of bacon crisp, Mozzarella cheese and basil on a classic bruschetta during my next visit! I heard that the Pulled Pork Sandwich (RM18) is highly recommended too.

Dessert
Homemade Vanilla Bean Ice Cream @ RM7

Whether you have a sweet tooth, be sure to make your finale to the meal a cup of homemade vanilla bean ice cream indulged with comfort. It is so creamy with little black specks in it, meaning that it is made of real vanilla beans. Affogato served here uses this premium ice cream too!

Verdict:
1. It is a perfect place to chill out - Away from the maddening crowd in similar coffee joints.
2. The hot food items are surprisingly good with lots of varieties focusing on pork and eggs as the mains.
3. Pricewise, it is very affordable compared to other cafes within the vicinity of Sunway. Plus, there is no tax or service charges applied here.
