CEDAR ON 15 @ Impiana KLCC Hotel : Signature Dishes & Christmas / New Year Promotion

The newly launched CEDAR ON 15 Western Restaurant and Chill-out Bar has appeared 
as a new icon in the midst of Golden Triangle of the city.  Being one of the few roof-top 
restaurants in KL, this nice addition brings Impiana KLCC Hotel to be known for 
not only its fine dining, but also for an unforgettable dining experience 
with a panoramic view of Kuala Lumpur's skyline at night. 

The talk of the town right now, CEDAR ON 15, revolves around the concept 
‘Fresh, Simple & Chic’ to offer guests finely prepared eclectic western delights 
as well as an extensive wine selection and unique specialty cocktails throughout the evening.

Located at the rooftop of Impiana KLCC Hotel at Level 15, the dinner is served between 6pm to 10pm. Thereafter a female resident DJ spins every night from 10pm onwards. The latest mixes and sounds keep the party going at the alfresco lounge along with assortments of light bites until 2am.

CEDAR ON 15 has picked up on a contemporary design for the interior, portraying boldness 
in the red and grey hues under the groovy light art display in the serene dining area.

For an ultimate experience of dining above Kuala Lumpur's skyline, 
this modern and elegant outlet  features a private dining room, 
overlooking the majestic Petronas Twin Towers and the ultra-modern city.

Here the good food comes hand in hand with serenade music,  played by the 
live bands at some nights. And I'm fortunate to see them around during my visit.

#1 House Signature Bread

Service is at top notch in CEDAR ON 15 as patrons are welcomed with 
warm complimentary bread and in-house special butter dips. 

#2 Amuse Bouche

The Executive Chef Helmut Lamberger from Rosegg, Austria then greets us some mini bites that vary everyday. Patrons will be surprised by new gastronomical creations from every now and then.

STARTER


#3 Tartar of Scallops @ RM48
served on shaved parsnips and basil jelly 

#4 Beef Carpaccio @ RM48
served with Burrata cheese, pan fried mushrooms, parmesan and rocket lettuce


Tantalizing the taste buds, the list of starters doesn't just end here. Patrons can choose from the lightest classic caesar to the freshest Australian rock oysters

SOUP

#5 Cream of Topin Ambour @ RM25

Sipping on the signature Jerusalem artichoke or more commonly known as 'Earth Apple' soup, 
this vegetarian broth gives a creamy sweet flavour with hints of earthiness. Served with 
grilled Portobello mushrooms, I adore its smoothness going down the throat. 




MAIN COURSE


 #6 Pumpkin Seed Crusted Black Cod @ RM72

This dish of in-house signature fish has gained the most unanimous votes from the fellow diners of the night. Bursting with sweet and delicate, the pan-fried fish itself is a winning taste on its own. 
Topping the fish is a crusty layer of pumpkin seeds, giving a nice addition of crisp and nutty edge. 
Coupled with mushroom tomato chutney and fennel mousse, 
how can I not smitten by the heavenly creation?


#7 Malt-glazed Venison Leg @ RM65
contains alcohol, with braised garlic and celeriac mashed

#8 Australian Greg Norman Wagyu @ RM220

The slice of premium rib eye is well-seasoned before being beautifully grilled into
 medium rare perfection. The smoky note is further enhanced with 
a wide selection of sauces and side dishes.

DESSERT

#10 Chocolate Seduction @ RM38

True to its name, the dessert of the evening has indeed seduced me with loads of creamy sweetness. Chocolate seduction is an ensemble of dark mousse, white ganache and 
famous Austrian sacher tart specially crafted by Chef Helmut. 

Originated from Vienna, the sacher tart or commonly known as chocolate cake there is rich and dense. The fudge-like cake is crusty on the outside, and moist on the inside. Every forkful of the cake is accompanied with a boastful of sweet sensation from the whipped cream. The decors of ganache and berries are a nice addition, adding hints of sourness to the palate. 
Perfect for those with a sweet tooth.

Fluffy light meringue sponge filled with fresh strawberries and pistachio

Verdict: 
1. Great dining experience with fantastic panoramic night life of KL’s skyline. Added points on its classy and comfy interior too.
2. An ideal venue after work- The pumping beats, snacks and cocktails have said it all.
3. In terms of the food, I am pretty satisfied with the surprises from the Austrian chef.
