[HOTEL REVIEW] Resorts World Langkawi: Newly Renovated with Infinity Pool

Yay, I am here in Langkawi again!

It is my 4th time visiting Langkawi Island and this round,
I stay at the newly renovated Resorts World Langkawi for 3 days 2 nights.

Aerial view of Resorts World Langkawi

Located in the tropical paradise of the Andaman Sea, Resorts World Langkawi not only offers tranquility amidst the picturesque surroundings, but also provides world-class facilities including newly renovated rooms and upgraded amenities.

I remember I have been here once when I was a kid and the resort was previously known as Awana Porto Malai. Now it has changed so much! From the Mediterranean-inspired architectural designs to the beautiful natural surroundings, it is indeed a perfect getaway from the hustles and bustles of urban life.

How to Get There:
❤ 25 minutes drive from Langkawi Airport that is located some 15km away
❤ 15 minutes drive from Cenang Beach

*Airport transfer service is available upon prior booking.

RESORT ROOMS

There are 211 rooms in total -- among which are the newly renovated Standard room, Standard Seaview, Premier and Premier Seaview Rooms which are all private spaces that offer different panoramic views of lush greenery or cerulean sea.

SIGNATURE SUITE

For those seeking for the finest level of service and comfort (especially during your honeymoon!), you can also choose among the Premier Suite, Signature Suite and Presidential Suite.

Spacious living hall in the Signature Suite

For instance, the Signature Suite is tastefully furnished with ultimate luxury and comfort in mind. The suite is complete with a living hall, bedroom, dressing area, outdoor dining area and even an en-suite Massage Room so that you can enjoy massage therapies in the suite itself. How well-thought the design is!

Private massage room with two beds in the Signature Suite

The Suite also features a spacious, romantic bath area.

PREMIER SEA VIEW ROOM
Check-in Time: 3pm onwards
Check-out Time: Before 12 noon

The room we stay is the sea-facing Premier Seaview Room which provides a picture-perfect breathtaking view. The best part is, I get to watch sunrise right from the floor-length window in the room itself, how amazing is that!

Facilities:
❤ Free WiFi
❤ Television with in-house movies (Phoenix, CCTV Chinese channels, satellite TV programmes)
❤ Mini fridge and tea / coffee making facilities
❤ Complimentary bottles of mineral water
❤ Iron, safe, hair dryer, basic toiletries, etc
❤ Baby cot and extra bed (subject to availability, upon request only)

Alternatively we can also take a stroll and watch the sunrise along the boardwalk right below our room, while the sea breezes kiss the hair. Now as I'm penning this down, I already miss this holiday where I can totally clear my mind and have nothing to worry about!

BUFFET BREAKFAST
Location: Seagull Coffeehouse
Breakfast Time: 7am – 10am
Coffeehouse Operation Hours: 7am – 10.30pm

Food and beverages are not lacking in Resorts World Langkawi. However, as we spend most of our time outside the resort, the only meal we have here is the buffet breakfast at Seagull Coffeehouse that offers a great variety of Asian and international dishes.

Our breakfast portion during getaways is always bigger than usual :P Just kidding!
How I wish to have such a scrumptious breakfast by the pool with a huge bunch of friends everyday.

INFINITY POOL
Operation Hours: 8am – 8pm

Woohoo, this is the best part I like about Resorts World Langkawi! Nothing beats the enjoyment of dipping into the infinity pool overlooking the beautiful Andaman Sea.

Picture taken around 5-6pm when the sunshine is pretty strong.

Newly launched in February 2018, the infinity pool is a separate addition to the existing swimming pool so that guests can have the feel of "swimming in the sea" as it is a salt water pool.

With the sun rays shining directly to the pool during the day and moonlight in the evening,
it becomes an ideal spot for Instagram-worthy shots.

So, don't forget to bring your bikini and floats, and have fun here!

POOL PARTY

On the first evening of our stay, we have our Pool Party by the infinity pool. For those who are interested to book the place for private events or organize pool activities, feel free to contact the Sales Department or Hotel Reservation (subject for approval) for more details.

Our dinner by the pool features an array of sandwiches, fried snacks, desserts and mocktails.

Beverage Happy Hour (Buy 1 Free 1) and Cocktail Promotions run from time to time,
so don't miss it!

TAMAN SARI ROYAL HERITAGE SPA

As we explore the rest of the resort, we also spot an ideal spa sanctuary to complete our rejuvenation journey from head to toe. The resort’s five-star Taman Sari Royal Heritage Spa is famed for its traditional Royal Javanese massages, aromatherapy massage, hand and foot therapy that help soothe the body and mind.

If you are seeking for holistic treatments to pamper your bodies, here's the right place to go.

Other amenities in the resort include swimming pool, gym, meeting rooms, grand ballroom and game room.

ZIPLINE (FLYING FOX)
Read more about my first zipline experience: HERE

Activities outside the resort are aplenty too! First timers should try the Umgawa Zipline Adventure where we can fly across the rainforest with a mountainous waterfall backdrop amidst the lush greenery!

Crossing the "Sky Bridge" during my Umgawa Zipline Adventure.

Apart from that, the resort also offers recreational activities such as jet-skiing, scuba-diving, snorkeling, island hopping, fishing, and mangrove-and-cave geopark tour.

LANGKAWI SKYCAB / SKYBRIDGE
Read about my experience: HERE

To explore the popular spots of the island, the resort offers trips to some places of interest, namely:
Pantai Cenang (The resort offers FREE shuttle to Cenang, 5 times a day)
❤ Langkawi Underwater World
❤ Langkawi SkyCab and SkyBridge
❤ Mahsuri’s Masoleum (Makam Mahsuri)
❤ Telaga Tujuh Waterfalls
❤ Buffalo Park
❤ Field of Burnt Rice (Beras Terbakar)

One of the must-visit places I personally recommend in Langkawi is the popular SkyCab cable car ride to the top of the hill for a breezy walk along the SkyBridge in the air. Right next to the SkyCab station, there is also a 3D Art Museum which is worth checking out for!

Langkawi SkyBridge

Travelling Tips: It is best to visit SkyBridge during cold season, i.e. October - December
to enjoy the cool breezes at the top of the mountain.

LANGKAWI SUNSET CRUISE
Read more about my first sunset cruise experience: HERE.

Another must-try experience here is the Sunset Cruise for some relaxing moments with magnificent sunset view, barbecue gourmet feast, free flow of cocktails, salt water jacuzzi and eclectic music.

What’s better than sailing across the Andaman Sea and watching the sunset in the middle of the ocean?

Overall Verdict:
★★★★☆

Overall, it has been an amazing stay in Resorts World Langkawi with its top-notch amenities, surreal sceneries, excellent location and impeccable services. I don’t mind coming back again for a long weekend escapade!
