[TRAVEL] Langkawi Sunset River Cruise Experience

Time to enjoy the sun-kissed skin and salty hair amidst the infinity ocean!

Langkawi Island is more than just about duty-free shopping, museum-hopping and beach activities. In my previous post, I have shared about my first zipline adventure with Umgawa which I personally recommend for those seeking for thrills and adrenaline rush.

But if you prefer something more laidback and relaxing, then why not hop onto the Langkawi Sunset Cruise to enjoy a cocktail in the middle of the sea as the sun goes down?

During our 3D2N stay at Resorts World Langkawi, we spend one of our evenings at the Sunset Cruise by Tropical Charters to experience 3 hours of tranquility at the sea.

Look at our cruise! It is bright orange in color, easily noticeable from far.

The pick-up point is right in front of our resorts, which is super convenient for us. Don't worry if you need transportation to get there, because the cruise package includes hotel transfers too.

The Sunset Cruise departs daily from the marina at 5pm sharp as it sails off to a serene evening. But remember to board the cruise earlier, say 4.30pm, to secure a good seat on the cruise.

Bye-bye Resorts World Langkawi! We shall see you 3 hours later...

The sun can be scorching hot in the late afternoon, but it also marks the best time for me to take beautiful pictures on the cruise. Seriously, there are way too many Instagram-worthy poses / angles you can get here! Don't forget to dress up if you want the perfect cruise shot.

Let's enjoy the "Salt Water Jacuzzi" in the sea!

Alternatively, you can spend some time dipping into the warm evening waters of the Andaman Sea while sipping on a glass of cocktail. A net will be let down by the cruise, so you don't have to worry about safety at all. So don't forget to put on your swimsuit and bring extra clothes!

With the life jacket, you can also go for a swim in the ocean!

While we are having fun there, we notice that the cruise crew are busy preparing BBQ dinner for us. Mmm....can't wait to relish the satay and barbecued meats!

The BBQ dinner on-board is served at the lower deck of the cruise around 7pm, but be there earlier to avoid long queues. The variety of the dinner spread is fairly wide, as we can choose from the fish, shrimp, chicken, beef and salad dishes. After main course, they even have fruit cuts for us.

Canned beverages are up for grabs too.

Nothing beats the enjoyment of an icy cold can of beer!

This is the best time to gather over meals on the cruise and spend quality time with your loved ones.

If you feel like having something different, head to the Free Flow Bar at the upper deck of the cruise and the barista will prepare your favourite cocktails / mocktails.

Dancing mode on! Not forgetting to mention the dance floor is open for everyone as soon as the atmosphere is filled with upbeat music and swaggy vibes. It is the best time to loosen up some nerves, enjoy the sunset-colored open sea with your partners, or even make new friends on board.

Approaching dusk, it is the best time to head to the sides of the cruise and truly immerse ourselves into the beauty of nature as the sky fades from shades of orange to light, dusky purple littered with tiny silver stars.

I like how the cruise is designed to allow for sufficient space so that everyone on board can enjoy a 360-degree sunset view.

Sunlight is softer at this hour too, ideal for photography!

The beauty of sunset view from the middle of the ocean is just perfect, so beautiful right?

The Langkawi Sunset Cruise then returns to the marina around 8pm, after the sun has gone down for the day. Although it is a short 3-hour cruise trip, it is an unforgettable twilight experience with a bunch of awesome friends.

Verdict:
★★★★☆

Overall, Langkawi Sunset Cruise offers an amazing experience of sailing across the sea and watching sunset with top notch quality services, good food and drinks. It can be a relaxing trip with friends and family, or a short romantic getaway for lovebirds.

If you would like to have a toned-down evening of peace and tranquility,
then the Sunset Cruise package is something worth considering!
