Review: TSUBAKI Shining Shampoo, Conditioner & Mask

How often do you wake up with dull, untame hair? Sadly but true, it seems to be a common thing for me ever since I bleached my hair in October 2014. I have chopped off my previously long hair, but the tip remains dry due to the intensive hair dyeing and daily thermal styling.

The "inner" side of my bleached hair really looks like....grass? So dry, tangled and dull! :(

...I have been searching for a good hair solution until recently I stumble upon TSUBAKI, the premium hair care product imported from Japan. Convinced by Shiseido's latest technology of repairing hair melanin holes due to constant UV rays exposure, it's time for me to try Tsubaki Shining hair care range....

For the luxurious shine, I pick the basic essentials from the Shining range-- Shampoo, conditioner and hair mask. Additionally, this range also includes Tsubaki Hair Water and Hair Treatment Essence Oil for the best result.

Have you heard of Tsubaki, or Camellia flower?

The main ingredient that makes TSUBAKI so popular and effective is the premium Japanese Camellia Oil!  ❤ Sourced from Camellia flower, this highly pure Tsubaki oil is packed with oleic acids that are extremely compatible with our own skin. Asian beauties have long known about this hair beauty ingredient, for instance Japanese Geishas traditionally use the oil to have the glossy hair look.

For over 140 years, Camellia oil has proven its goodness to us, therefore Tsubaki incorporates it into its products to deeply protect, hydrate and repair your hair, resulting in a luxurious shine.

Moreover, they are all injected with Arginine, an important component to restore the inner structure of the hair fibre that allows light to be reflected in every angle for beautiful shine and luster.

My new hair regime begins with the Shining shampoo that has a light, silky gel-like texture that wows me on the first pump.  Checking the ingredients, I found that the shampoo is silicon-free, so no worries about "unbreathable" scalp. Love the exquisite fruity-floral fragrance that is done beautifully and not overpowering at all!

Application wise, it lathers very well. But remember to massage well on the scalp!
One full pump is sufficient for my hair length, and you'd probably need more for longer hair.

The Shining shampoo has certainly done a great job in removing impurities and softening the hair, but that's certainly not enough. I use it with the shining conditioner everyday and it indeed makes my hair softer, smoother and more manageable.

I think my dry, split ends need extra care, so I go for the hair mask as well. Just leave it on for 2-3 minutes before rinsing off, and it is able to intensely repair hair from within, seals hair cuticles from root to tip for extra shine.

Now I am using it for 3-4 times a week because I really love the effect. It feels like an oil-based serum that gives the hair an extra shiny coating without feeling heavy, greasy or sticky!

After a few washes, I am impressed with the significant improvement on my hair. It now appears shinier, softer and more manageable from root till tip. Less worries about UV damages, split ends and hair breakage too!

(Compare it with the first picture) From the back, it looks amazingly shiny like I have never had before!

Overall, I think this range works perfectly on normal, dull and even dry hair. I've never thought oil-based shampoo can be so light and airy to the hair, while providing maximum shine and moisture. I'd consider getting the Shining range's Treatment Essence Oil as well!

For those with scalp issue or damaged hair, Tsubaki has few other ranges
that are able to give equal shine while solving your hair issue.
