Haven Restaurant @ LookOut Point, Ampang

Recently, I've heard rumours that Lookout Point @ Ampang has closed down due to unknown reasons. Does that really happen? Despite of staying miles away from Ampang, I had a first and only chance visiting the place and enjoy the night scenery there.

The location of the night is The Haven. It's another quiet restaurant up the hill during weekdays, and very crowded during weekends.

It's a great place to chill :) and also for celebrations and romantic dinners.

If you opt a romantic dinner with your loved one,
do make a reservation for "Romantic Dinner Set" @ RM 99 NETT.

Nice environment and table decoration; But too bad, those can't be eaten.

Why do people often go up to the hill @ Lookout Point?
FOR THE NIGHT SCENERY OF COURSE!
I can see KLCC from farrrrr! :D

Left: Kiwi Chocolate ; Right: Soursop Mocha
@ RM 8.00 each
Both taste almost alike--- Too sweet and too sour to suit my taste!

Grilled Chicken Special @ RM 25.90
Served with pasta, corn, sausage and potato salad.

Looks great, doesn't it? Perhaps I've came with higher expectations of the foodstuff here but it turns out different from what I've thought.

Shawarma Chicken @ RM 19.90
It looks very much like a chicken burrito---
With chicken cutlets, tomato cubes, and lettuce wrapped with tortilla skin.

I ordered this because of many recommendations from other food reviews.
But to my disappointment, its skin is just too thick to be chewed!

Just a cup of iced "Ahmad"GreenTea (Plus it's a teabag-- not a brewed tea) costs RM 5.00!

This will guide you how to get there :)

RM 74.58 for two :)
So... going to LookOut Point means enjoying the skyline view, but definitely NOT the food!

Verdict:
1. I don't mind overpriced food if and only if the taste is acceptable. But definitely not this one.
2. The night scenery is not as awesome as described by many bloggers. I mean lights at the night are normal, don't they?
3. I hope I don't get lost if I were to go there again. The snaky path is somehow too much for me.

  8. Thats a honest review according to your experience. Sometimes the presentation and look of the good may be great but not the taste, something like what you have experience. I also think food taste is different to each one of us, probably thats why others would enjoyed their meal here.

  10. ya, i remember that during my dinner here, a few years ago, what impressed us was the scenery, but not the food. and too bad i think most of the restaurants up here didn't serve wine. only beer =)

  11. I'm soooo out-dated. I hardly get to visit those restaurants, plus whenever we dine out, we opt for kids friendly places :)

But The Haven is a nice place to rekindle the fire with my hubb, ahem.... *kicking the kids to sitter/granny's house*
