How to Travel Easy and Pre-book Your RTK Tests

Yay, can't believe after two years of this Covid-19 outbreak,

the Malaysia borders are finally open once again and we can all go travelling! 

But of course, there are more stringent requirements now for those who are traveling into Malaysia or out of Malaysia and back. I have been doing some research on the easiest and most affordable procedure on the current travel requirements, and I found eMedAsia!

eMedAsia is the one-stop centre for health, Covid and travel assistance!

Samsung Galaxy A33 5G - First impression

Last month, Samsung unveiled the brand new Galaxy A53 5G and Galaxy A33 5G as part of the new family members of Galaxy A series which is the most popular Galaxy smartphone category that delivers an awesome mobile experience at great value.

Although Galaxy A33 5G looks identical to its predecessor, Galaxy A32 5G, internally almost everything has been improved for good. That's why I have gotten myself the Galaxy A33 5G :) 

I have been using the phone for a week now - so here's some initial thoughts (purely based on my personal experience):

Unboxing the packaging

In the minimalistic box, the device comes with an USB-C cable - without the charger plug or earphones.

As part of Samsung's sustainability efforts, the Galaxy A series removes the charger plug and reduces the size of the packaging. Plus, the device itself uses recycled post-consumer materials (PCM) for the side buttons and SIM card trays. Great effort! 

Design and display

It is available in 4 colors: Awesome black, Awesome white, Awesome blue, Awesome violet - and I am in love with the baby blue shade! So sweet-looking and cute for me.

Undoubtedly, the device’s slim bezel creates a smooth, stylish look - so fashionable yet beautifully functional. The 6.4-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED 90Hz Infinity-U Display is bright and crisp. The best part? The intelligent algorithm allows the display to appear vivid and clear even under the bright sun.

The screen features the tough Corning® Gorilla® Glass 5 and IP67 water and dust resistance, meaning that it should survive submersion in up to a meter (3.3 ft) of water for 30 minutes. 

Camera quality

One of the biggest upgrades we see here is the advanced, next-level camera experience. The Galaxy A33 5G's quad-camera system features a 48 MP F1.8 OIS main camera, a 8 MP F2.2 ultra-wide, a 5 MP F2.4 macro and a 2 MP F2.4 depth camera to the rear, and a 13 MP F2.2 selfie camera out front. It delivers great selfies and daylight photos so far. 

Color wise, it is pretty close to the actual environment. I shall put the camera's night mode into test soon.

Processor configurations

The device has been working buttery smooth, all thanks to the Octa-core 5-nm processor (2.4GHz + 2GHz cores). System support comes from 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage, with microSD expansion up to 1TB. 

Battery life

Another noteworthy point is the excellent battery life up to two-day and 25W Super Fast Charging. I have been using the device for more than 24 hours and yet it has more than 50% juice left in the tank.  

Security

The device packs Samsung Knox security to help keep your digital assets safe, and up to 5 years of security updates are available too. One thing new to me personally is the Secure Folder which offers an encrypted, digital safe access to private photos, notes and apps.

Accessories

Galaxy A33 5G works seamlessly with other Galaxy devices for the full, connected Galaxy ecosystem experience. I am glad to have my Galaxy Buds Live to be able to enjoy true, immersive, 3D sound.

For work and productivity, you can use Link to Windows to connect the device to a Windows PC to copy and paste, transfer files and even answer calls or texts.

In a nutshell

The Galaxy A33 5G is a pretty good bargain for its functions and value.

Welcome to the JATI x Malaysia Grand Bazaar "Rasa Kasih Aidilfitri" indoor Ramadan Bazaar!

Malaysia Grand Bazaar (MGB), the first-of-its-kind artisanal grand bazaar in KL has recently opened its doors. In conjunction with the Ramadan month, they are currently having the indoor Ramadan Bazaar themed Rasa Kasih Aidilfitri:

If you are wondering where is MGB, it is located beside LaLaport East Entrance. Just walk along the Gourmet Street until the end - and you will see MGB's entrance on your right. 

Dubbed as the Malaysian cultural and heritage hub that allows visitors to experience the best food, handicrafts and cultural performances from all states, MGB is easily accessible via BBCC-Hang Tuah LRT and Monorail stations. 

It is my first time stepping into this 100,000 sqft space, and I am wowed by the beautiful architecture and the vibrant environment showcasing Malaysia’s rich and diverse culture, heritage and street food.

The "Rasa Kasih Aidilfitri" indoor Ramadan Bazaar is organised by Jati, Malaysia's leading rice brand in collaboration with MGB, and in partnership with ecoBrown's, AirAsia SANTAN, KHIND, CHJ Motor and Gracshaw. 

Throughout these 16-day bazaar, there are more than 60 proudly Malaysian homegrown booths offering delicious Raya food and beverages, groceries, art and crafts, fashion, household appliances and more.

According to Mr Chua, Jati is proud to take the lead in Rasa Kasih Aidilfitri in supporting and promoting Malaysian brands and businesses. We should all be reminded of the richness and quality of the Malaysian-made offerings - so, let's support local! 

If you do not already know, Jati is one of the most renowned national rice millers focusing on rice-based products including their healthier editions such as Jati Signature Pusa Finest Basmathi series, namely Basmathi 1121, Original and Basmathi 1509. 

Similarly, Ms Michelle Liew, the Head of Retail Development, BBCC Development Sdn Bhd, expressed that Jati and MGB share the same ethos of promoting and supporting homegrown brands and retailers. That's why we are here to discover the uniquely Malaysian culture at MGB. 

As we roam around MGB, the first thing we notice is the mural art by Mr Kenji Chai,

themed "Fusion Culture" and it is of 2 and a half floor height. So Instagram-worthy!

colorful Malaysia from West Malaysia to Sabah and Sarawak. Beautiful piece indeed!

Among the booths in MGB, what attracts me the most are the fine art and crafts designed and produced  by our local talents. If you are looking for an unique Malaysian gift, now you know where you should head to!

Since it is our anniversary trip, we roam around the hotel a little, and spend the rest of our time chilling in the room.

At the comfort of our home-like room, our private dinner experience is amazing. And I love how everything is beautifully presented and tastes great too. While the Mushroom Soup is punch packed with flavours and the Caesar Salad is fresh and appetizing, my personal favourite goes to the Pan-Seared Salmon which is tender and moist inside and crisp on the skin - so juicy and fresh!  

A noteworthy point here is that the service is excellent as our dinner arrives on time, and the food comes with food warmer to keep them warm and fresh. Thumbs up for the great service! 

 

After the heavy dinner, we decided to head out for a walk around the hotel, and then hit the bed early. It is indeed a retreat for rest, relax and play.  

In the next morning, our stay at the Junior Suite entitles us a complimentary buffet breakfast at the Kites Restaurant, making our stay here more memorable as we get to enjoy a wide array of local and international food for breakfast. 

Verdict:

If you are looking for a quality stay with exquisite experience be it the comfortable room, golfing at the championship golf courses, delicious in-room private dinner or relaxing swim at the outdoor pool, Glenmarie Hotel & Golf Resort is definitely something you can consider. 

The hotel's "Inspire Romance" package is indeed an amazing deal. Personally, my experience here is nothing short of comfort and good service. Highly recommended for couples, or any special occasions.
