MajuHome Concept Store is Now Open at Citta Mall!

Congratulations to the grand opening of MajuHome Concept Store at Citta Mall!

Home is where our story begins. Courtesy to MajuHome Concept Store, I was honored to be one of the guests for this much awaited grand opening ceremony held in an exclusive style filled with glitz and glamour.

Do you know that MajuHome is now Citta Mall’s biggest anchor tenant and the biggest in home furnishing and lifestyle products, occupying over 60,000 square feet of selling and floor space at this double storey outlet?

MajuHome Concept group Managing Director, Ken Low expressed that the company has already been in business since 1986, and continuously produce and deliver a wide variety of modern and trendy furniture with latest designs to the Malaysian consumers.

We believe in putting all our hearts and passion in our business, not only delivering good quality furniture solutions that suits every room and space of the Malaysian home and office but also modern, contemporary and trendy furniture that redefines a customer’s personal taste and lifestyle in his or her unique way. And that is exactly what is conveyed in our slogan “Redefining Lifestyle, Your Way” because every person’s taste and style is unique and special, and MajuHome Concept strives to deliver that promise”, he added.

The event is followed by the announcement of winners for MajuHome Snap and Win Photo Contest
which I have blogged earlier. Congratulations to the lucky ones who walked away with amazing prizes!

After the ribbon cutting ceremony, it was the official revealing and signing ceremony of MajuHome Concept with former Formula One racer, Alex Yoong, as the new brand ambassador for the MajuHome Concept brand.

I am honored to be working along with such a fantastic and passionate driven partner, who are always working tirelessly innovating in a business that is constantly saturated with competitors and players in the market. With their strong vision to create a more convenient and efficient shopping that provides great furnishing ideas and solutions, I am confident that Malaysian consumers will find great choices in furniture and home living through this brand,” said Alex.

In conjunction to the grand opening, there are plenty of exciting promotions and activities lined up to reward loyal and new customers alike in the new opening weekend such as the fabulous lucky draw with more than RM10,000 worth of prizes! Don’t miss out all the fabulous offers and great bargains.

Let's check out the huge store now!

It features a wide range of home living products ranging from sofa to dining furniture as well as a diverse variety of branded bedding products, to create a tasteful interior of your home and workspace.

Not only that, you'd be spoilt with wide choices of home decorative accessories, unique children specialty furniture, in-demand office furniture collection and high quality built-in kitchen cabinets, kitchen and bathroom appliances.

Personally, I feel that MajuHome Concept is unlike any traditional local furniture mall. It is more like an “one stop shopping mall” for home and office furnishings, based on its modern and contemporary furniture and lifestyle concept in an enormous display house.

It is easy to view and visualize how the furniture and furnishings you purchase would look like,
mix and match with your desired interior design and customize according to your needs.

Ephyra "Love Your Skin" Awareness Campaign

Hi babe! I am not sure if you are aware of the danger of UV rays, but long exposure to bright sunlight and harmful UV rays can cause skin issues including skin cancer, as explained by Dr. Hatun Deleila Azrai, Aesthetics and Beauty Specialist during the "Love Your Skin" awareness campaign held by Ephyra.

Acne, dark spots and uneven skin tone are common among ladies, causing many to lose confidence when meeting people. Even at the tender age of 20++, skin problems can be a threat to one's skin appearance, especially when the situation is not controlled with the right solution.

“Studies show that 80-90% of Asian ladies have skin pigmentation issue due to excessive UV rays exposure caused by the overproduction of melanin. In fact, melanin helps protect the cells from damage, but too much of it will cause an uncontrollable formation of dark spots.”

Hence, Ephyra's "Love Your Skin" awareness campaign is great to raise awareness among the public so that we will take better care of the skin due to the unavoidable UV rays.

During the event, Mdm Amiza Amiruddin, the CEO cum founder of Ephyra proudly announced the relaese of 2 new skincare products-- Ephyra Skin Nano Advanced Repair Serum and Ephyra Skin Snow Advanced White Repair Moisturizer. Not forgetting to mention Ephyra's ‘killer product’ which is the Ephyra Skin soap bar.

Formulated with nanotechnology patented in Switzerland, the serum is water-based, hence has lightweight texture. Whereas the moisturizer with the Geno-White technology can easily be absorbed into the skin without leaving any sticky or oily residue.

Packed with antioxidant ingredients such as Glutathione, Vitamin C and Vitamin E extracted from natural fruits, it is specially formulated to cater for the skin problems among Asian women such as dark spot, pigmentation, scar, and dull skin.

Ephyra ambassadors, Memey Suhaiza and Norman Hakim also shared their experience of using Ephyra for more than 4 years. Moreover, Ephyra has succesfully reaped the Asia Pacific Super Health Brand 2015-2017 Award, allowing kredibiliti dan keyakinan pengguna tentang kualiti produk tempatan seperti Ephyra.

Anyway, I have just received this Ephyra Skin Care Series at my doorstep.
Can't wait to try it out and share the product review with you guys!

Kokoru Japanese Restaunt @ Taman Segar, Cheras

Good news for Japanese food lovers in the neighbourhood of Cheras! My recent trip to Cheras Leisure Mall has led to the discovery of this newly opened Kokoro Japanese Restaurant in Taman Segar-- a family-friendly establishment which focuses on homey Japanese main courses and desserts.

Tucked along the same row of shoplots with Dragon Door Steamboat (龙门客栈) and Inside Scoop, outdoor parking can be tricky here but you can always park inside the shopping mall and walk over. Inside the restaurant, the ambiance is warm and cosy, simply perfect for casual dining with family and friends.

Iced Blueberry Honey Vinegar Drink @ RM10.90
Iced Hojicha Latte @ RM10.90

To begin our gastronomical journey here, we have something more exciting than the usual plain green tea. Kokoro’s signature drinks, the Honey Vinegar and Hojicha both use premium ingredients imported from Japan such as the blueberry vinegar which has health benefits in reducing blood pressure, as well as Japanese Hojicha powder that makes the beverage richer and creamier than usual.

Salmon Sashimi with Special Sauce @ RM18.90

To tantalize our taste buds, we have our first try on the thick and juicy salmon sashimi served on a bed of secret mustard sauce that tastes very rich, yet not pungent at all. The overall combination is a total surprise to me, so palatable and delicious.

Honestly, the price falls slightly on the steeper side. However, considering the freshness and thickness of each slice of the imported fish, it is definitely worth a try.

Grilled Pork Belly Don @ RM16.90

As for the main course, first timers must try the grilled pork rice served with a side of salad and Miso soup. If you’re a serious pork lover, you’d gonna get hooked upon the first bite into the juicy slice which is heavily coated with sweet sticky sauce and roasted sesame. Portion wise, it is quite sizeable and great for sharing.

Claypot Seafood Udon @ RM15.90

Another hot dish that interests me is the Japanese Nabe, a hotpot generously loaded with seafood ingredients, creating the naturally sweet broth that suits both young and old. Dig into the seafood goodness, and you’ll find some udon noodles at the bottom, so chewy and filling for me. .

Gyumuyo Matcha Parfait @ RM17.90

Lastly, what not to be missed here is actually the green tea dessert! Kokoro uses only premium Gyokuro green tea powder-- one of the most expensive types of sencha in Japan-- to create its very own version of soft serve ice cream. It appears creamier and richer with just the right balance of bitter sweetness.

I am totally blown by the dessert! Layered with crispies, Green Tea Kit Kat, whipped cream, nuts and lots more; how can I resist that? The parfait is also available in Hojicha flavour, another great option for those who don’t fancy green tea.

Verdict:
1. If you are up for some neighbourhood Japanese dining with a taste closer to the local preference, then Kokoro is the right place to visit.
2. Comfort food with decent ambiance and affordable price. Set lunches are equally good for the working crowd to enjoy a sumptuous meal below RM20.
3. Recommended: Hojicha Latte, Matcha Parfait

Ramadan Buka Puasa at InterContinental Kuala Lumpur Hotel

The festive season is back! From 6 June till 5 July 2016, InterContinental Kuala Lumpur Hotel is celebrating the spirit of Ramadan with a full spread of homemade local delights from different states, themed "A Journey of Heritage: With the Celebrated Kampong Boys"

A group photo of the great men behind the kampong dishes.

The scrumptious Ramadan buffet this year features a myriad of heritage reminiscent dishes specially crafted by the five celebrated "kampong boys", and I am glad to be able to taste the homemade flavours from Perak, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka and Johor all under one roof at Serena Brasserie, all-day dining restaurant.

Nasi Minyak Rendang Tok by Chef de Cuisine, Suhaimi Md Tasir

No Malaysians can live without the staple rice, don't you agree? Slightly sweet and full of spice, the traditional Nasi Minyak is sure to warm the stomach and pair well with the thick Rendang or creamy Gulai dishes. Most importantly, it is a heartwarming 'get-together' dish for Perak-ians that you shouldn't miss during this Ramadan!

Asam Pedas Daging Tetel by Banquet Chef Yusof Salamat

Another noteworthy dish that tantalises the tastebud is the sweet and sour beef shank, which is a pleasant change from the customary asam pedas fish dish. Simple, classic and tummy-comforting, each mouthful of the thick gravy exudes strong aroma of chilli, tamarind juice, lemongrass and ginger flower!

Udang Masak Lemak Cili by Malay Chef Yusman Yahaya

For those who enjoy something milder, the flavoursome prawns cooked with pineapples and spiced coconut gravy definitely makes a great option. As the dish carries a strong remembrance of the chef's fond memories of his mum's cooking back in Negeri Sembilan, I am sure the flavours he created will bring your heart closer to home too.

Laksa Johor by Executive Sous Chef, Abdul Razak

Laksa variations are aplenty in Malaysia, but the Johorian version here exudes a richness in aroma and flavours unlike any other. It is nothing sourish like the usual laksa I have, but the chef creates an extra creamy and full-bodied white gravy of boiled fish and coconut milk, topped with al dente pasta noodles. Simply delicious!

Apam Balik by Executive Pastry Chef Chan Eng Hua

A signature recipe from the Chef's Peranakan home, I can already enjoy whiffs of fresh bakes lingering in the air when I am at this live cooking station. Each piece of the tender bake is warm and chewy with its moist, fluffy texture. Simple and nostalgic!

Ulam-ulaman and Kuih-muih

Apart from the 5 signature Kampong dishes served at the live cooking stations, the buffet spread also features a myriad of local ciusine to bring the best of traditional home-cooked flavours. From sweet to spicy, I am spoilt with so many choices that tantalize the palate!

Rendang Campor

Gulai Telur Itik

Ketupat Sotong

Pajeri Nenas

Stir Fried Chicken in Kung Po Style

"Har Lok" Prawn

Sayur Buncis Goreng Telur

Bubur Lambok Ayam with Condiments

What not to be missed on the extensive buffet spread is the thick, flavourful Bubur Lambok Ayam, which is good to go on its own, or served with traditional condiments. Don't forget to try the Margarine Lemang and Ketupat Nasi too.

Lemang with Spicy Dried Chicken and Beef Floss

As the finale of the sumptuous meal, we are treated with premium quality durian from Bentong. Each piece is so creamy, sweet and finger licking good! Imagine you can eat all the durians to your content at the buffet, that's perfect for you durian lovers out there.

The Natural Health Remedies Website Review

Do you consult the doctor whenever you’re unwell? Call me stubborn, but I don’t really like seeing the doctor unless I’m seriously sick, because nowadays obtaining the recipes for health remedies can be so easy with Internet. Anything can be easily Googled, and I recently bump into this website called The Natural Health Remedies website that is dedicated to finding home remedy, herbal treatments, and natural solutions for different concerns.

Modern medication develops with time, but natural remedies tend to retain their structure and come with several benefits that have been known for centuries. Despite of that, many do not have a clue on what home remedies they can work with. Well, www.thehealthremedies.com probably has your answers.

Some may be allergic towards certain medication, as all individuals are different and chemicals come with side effects. For sensitive people, this is the website to rely on. I love how the site distinctly subdivides its remedies into health-related and beauty-related categories which further branches out into preventive and curative remedies.

Structure wise, the home page is simple, clear and quick to maneuver. As it points out the different concerns it will address, I can easily scan through the page and navigate around conveniently. Plus, the overall outlook of the website pages is eye-catching, colourful, as well as captivating to keep you glued to the website.

As for the features, the top right-hand corner outlines the options of health or beauty remedies for you to choose. Soon as you open the website, it directs you to the home page, which outlines some of the most recent posts in the summary. The summary offers the option “read more” depending on your interest.

It also provides a link to their Facebook page which when clicked will redirect you to it. If you are using Twitter, don’t forget to follow them ya.

The home remedies provided start with the simplest of ingredients many of which are easy to find. The explanations are easy to follow and well spaced. The search option allows you to narrow down your search and identify your remedy fast over a short time.

Some home remedies are so unique that I have not heard before, but luckily the information provided is well-researched, hence reliable and I’m confident using them. It not only outlines the ingredients, but also the best ways and quantities to take the ingredients to prevent other concerns. Where caution should be taken, the site is not shy to spell it out. Most importantly, there are new updates on this site consistently to keep me glued to the site.

If you are looking for natural remedies to address both health and beauty concerns, do check out this site ya!
