Porcélene Bar & Restaurant @ Empire Damansara

If you are up for a sublime gastronomical adventure with great entertainment, Porcélene is the newest kid on the block of Empire Damansara that offers the best of both food and music. This new place takes only 5 minutes drive from The Curve. That's why I was there for the fun Porcélene Jazz Night.

The Bowler Room is located at the top floor of Porcelene where diners can stay after night to enjoy the live performances by different local bands. Here good food and music goes hand in hand, in fact Porcelene is the first Acid Jazz Bar and Restaurant in Malaysia!

Crinkle Cut, the all-girl electro-acoustic band would be performing after 10pm.

At the bar counter, you can basically order anything you want and the barista will whip it out for you! Cool eh?

At the ground floor of the restaurant, the ambiance has liven up the spirits with some funky musicians paintings on the wall under the warm orange hues.  Porcélene promises a more wholesome and fun dining experience by offering a wide variety of classic dishes with a twist of unique and independent flavours.

Standing boldly as an Asian-European Fusion Restaurant with an Italian foundation, Porcélene is more than just a casual place for food, drinks and chats with friends. The latest wine pairing menu has lifted up my expectations towards this restaurant and the wines it serves.

#1 Pizza Number Ten (RM36)

From its name, I'm not sure if it contains 10 ingredients, but the shredded duck breast, crispy skin, cucumber and spring onion with hoisin sauce base is definitely a unique combination that worth a try. Moist and cheesy with burnt crispiness at the edge, the traditional wood-fire pizza was nicely done here.

Best paired with Musar Hochar Pere - Lebanon (RM218)

Aromas of leather, cigar box, tea leaves and spices. The palate is enriched with soft stone fruits, plums, prunes, dates and figs with layers of sweet spices such as cardamom. This wine is well-balanced and elegant with soft velvety integrated tannins.

#2 Paella De El Submarino Amarillo

I usually skip my rice portion for dinners, but this classic Spanish rice was simply irresistible! Topped with abundance of mussel, shrimp, squid, white clams and pan seal fish fillet, the seafood goodness was well-suffused into the moist, sticky rice.

Best Paired with Stanley Estate Sauvignon Blanc - New Zealand (RM188)

I love the robust flavours of ripe tropical, gooseberries and citrus fruits that taste refreshing on the palate. It is well-balanced by a lush herbaceousness of green tomato stalks and capsicums.

#3 Signature Aglio Olio Di Nero
Squid ink spaghetti with mushrooms, sun-dried tomato and garlic

Best Paired with Vallformosa Primvm Rioja Crianza - Spain (RM208)

For a full-bodied wine, my favourite went to this young wine that is well-balanced in terms of flavour, smoothness, structure and flesh. The fresh red fruits, when combined with notes of liquorice, blackberry, violets and toffees is able to give a long, sweet finish.

#4 NYC Short Ribs (RM46)

Succulent and tender beef ribs glazed with our homemade BBQ sauce
served with cross trax fries and mixed salad

Best Paired with Shinas Estate Guilty Shiraz - Australia (RM218)

The rich, velvety smooth Shiraz is definitely a great choice for those who love going adventurous in wine tasting. Ripe shiny blackberry red is beautifully enhanced with peppery spice aromas and smoky vanillin oak, cheery fruits, chocolate and mocha.

#5 La Puerta Torrontes - Argentina (RM128)

Elegant pale yellow in colour, this wine exudes a crisp acidity of citrus on the palate with a fresh hint of apples and pineapple. Interestingly, its uniqueness is revealed in the powerful honeysuckle and flora aromas that give a clean and refreshing finish with floral hints.

Best Paired with Porcélene's Wok Fried Rice (RM18)

#6 Roman Salmon Roast

The thick, succulent roasted salmon in champagne cream sauce was the crowd's favourite for the evening. The salmon melted in the mouth with oceanic goodness and hints of smoky edges. A zest of lemon juice onto the fish would definitely liven up the senses.

#7 [Western] Sauteed Roasted Potato

#8 [Chinese] Hahm Yoke Than Sotong
Deep fried squid sauté with salted egg and curry leaves

#9 Cajun Cutlets

The well-marinated lamb cutlets were perfectly chargrilled into perfection. It was topped with homemade Cajun spices and exuded robust aroma that would please the most discerning palate.

#10 Mini Tartlets served in Cups

#11 Signature Tiramisu

To put a sweet ending note onto the sumptuous dinner, the signature tiramisu was a must-have in Porcelene! Smooth and sweet mascarpone cream around the espresso soaked lady fingers were beautifully dusted with cocoa powder to give a great balance of bittersweet flavours.

The al fresco dining area was simply awesome for pictures! Here you
can enjoy the beautiful decors under the windy, brightly-lit ambiance.
