Seven Cups @ Empire Damansara, PJ

Just 10 minutes drive from The Curve, we arrive at one of the famous coffee joints in town-- Seven Cups, which is tucked in Empire Damansara’s quiet hallways. Entering into this cornerlot shop, I am warmly welcomed with a clean, minimalistic space with light pinewood accents.

If you prefer brightly-lit ambiance, do opt for al fresco dining as you can enjoy the wind and sunlight there.

I learn that their beans are sourced from Singapore roaster Nylon, and spot something unique on the beverages menu. Coffee here comes in two types: Black or White (Milk), and the varieties differ according to the ratio of black and white composition in it.

Four Chairs, Baroida, San Jose and Monte Bonito from Nylon

From Pure Black Espresso, Lime Sparkling Black Coffee to Full White (Milk) Coffee, I believe coffee connoisseurs will be fascinated with the unique concoctions that bring out different flavours that excite the palate. Now we know how the White (Milk) influences the Black (Coffee).

 Hot Mocha @ RM13

To play safe, I opt for a cup of hot mocha, which comes in creamy foam, because I simply can't take strong coffee. Nothing fancy about the coffee art here, just something simple like how the theme of the cafe is.

 Jasmine Tea @ RM9

Non-coffee drinkers also have good reason to visit this place because Seven Cups serves chocolate drinks, English tea and loads of sweet stuff. Chocolate brownies, cheesecakes and raspberry chocolate ganache are on the display counter, but it seems like the choices are quite limited for now. Hopefully they'll introduce more exotic cakes soon.

I skip those cakes because I can't find my favourite flavour there, therefore opt for hot waffles instead.

Maple Buttered Pecan Waffle @ RM13

This is probably the most expensive waffle I've gone for. Crisp and hot out of the iron, the Belgium waffle is drizzled with pecan in maple syrup and finished with a sprinkle of powdered sugar. The waffles here are available in other selections that come with vanilla bean ice cream.

The buttery aroma lingers in the mouth with lightly sweet maple syrup as I take a good bite of the waffle. I personally prefer a more generous application of sauce, otherwise the waffle seems too dry. Nevertheless, it can still be improved portion wise.

I have once heard the saying, "Behind every successful man is a substantial amount of coffee",
and pretty agree with it. If you ever crave for coffee at Empire Damansara, Seven Cups is the right place to go.

Ending my post with my #OOTD for the coffee date.

  1. Lovely post, will give this place a try! I've been there for a work project before but never had the chance to try out the coffee places there! Can't wait! The building is beautiful too, perfect for an OOTD :)
