Review: Hotel Jen Puteri Harbour, Nusajaya, Johor

Hi! I just shared about my first experience at Sanrio Hello Kitty Town, Johor recently, featuring the latest addition: Hello Kitty in Oz. During this trip, I spent a night staying in the Deluxe Room at Hotel Jen, under the umbrella of Shangri-La international hotel group.

Location wise, the hotel is only few minutes away from Legoland Theme Park (With FREE Shutter Bus Service too!), The Little Big Club, Angry Birds Activity Park Johor Bahru and Johor Premium Outlet (JPO). You can easily hop to or from Singapore via a 20-minute drive from Senai International Airport or an hour away from Singapore Changi Airport.

And Sanrio Hello Kitty Town is only 300m away from the hotel lobby.
All it takes is just a brisk walk to arrive at the wonderland!

Hello Jen! The theme of the hotel is very casual, incorporating vibrant hues of the sea into the architecture and little details within the building. Suitable for the young-at-heart travellers!

The most basic room available in this hotel is the 33 square metre Deluxe Room, which I feel is sufficiently spacious and comfortable for 2-3 pax. My room is facing the street, but you can always top up a little to get the harbour view from your room.

The room is very well-equipped with free WiFi, 40" LED TV, tea and coffee station, iron,
ironing board, hairdryer, safe box, refrigerator, mini bar, wardrobe, sofa and study table.

They even have bathtub in the washroom, with my favourite ring lighted makeup mirror hanging on the wall! This is perfect for makeup especially when the lighting in the room is too warm and relaxing.

LOBBY
Love the sea theme at the hotel lobby too! The quirky design throughout
the building makes every nook and corner very picture worthy.

FACILITIES
The workout experience here is amazing-- Not just because of the varieties of equipment available, but also the scenic view of the harbour, providing spectacular view of the Johor straits through to Singapore. They even have convenient mobile charging stations at the gym and restaurants in the hotel!

I don't mind working out for longer hours for such picturesque scenery!

How about a swim at the rooftop infinity pool followed by a cocktail from the SkyBar located right next to it?
Well, that's how we should spend some chill-out time to balance the senses and ease away that work day stress.

3 of us are sunbathing by the pool. Love the perfect lighting for selfies!

They even have a very cozy spa centre; Will definitely be back for this during the next visit!

BREAKFAST
Breakfast for 2 is included in the room package, so on the next morning we head to the Harbour Cafe (which is just 2 levels below our room) for a sumptuous international buffet breakfast. Its spread of buffet is one of the best I've tried in terms of taste, freshness, varieties and uniqueness.

Being a bread person, the first thing I attack is the pastry corner-- Croissants, puffs and muffins; followed by my favourite milk with muesli and several premium condiments such as walnut, cashew nut, pineapple and more.

I am delighted to find so many types of cheese and yoghurt flavours there. My personal favourite goes to the wildberry and mango yoghurt, which is quite tangy and not sweet like the commercial type!

For Asian flavours, they also serve Teo Chew porridge, Nasi Lemak, Chee Cheong Fun and
soup noodles. But what not to be missed is the Laksa Johor, a signature dish of the state!

After breakfast, we take a stroll along Puteri Harbour that surrounds the hotel with lush scenery.
It feels so good to stay close to the nature!

Overall, it is an amazing stay at Hotel Jen. Nice room, good food, beautiful surrounding. It is a perfect weekend getaway from the hustles and bustles of the city. If you plan to visit the theme parks, then Hotel Jen is the best location to stay and unwind.

  3. Haven't been there for a few years and they have a new hotel? This will be a popular hotel soon as Singaporeans love to shop and travel in Johor.
