Rumour Has It: Adele–Her Life & Songs: Musical Celebration @ KLPAC

Rumour Has It: Adele – Her Life and Songs; Truly impressive musical celebration for the fans of Adele

Courtesy to Milestone Production, I am lucky to attend this international award-winning musical celebration, Rumour Has It: Adele – Her Life and Songs, held in Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre (KLPAC) from 21 September to 25 September 2016.

Rumour Has It Adele has toured more than 12 major cities in Australia, and has won many international awards such as:
Best Musical – Matilda Award
Best Musical Production – Groundling Award
Sunday Mail Top Two Show 2013 – Critic’s Choice
….and hopefully more to come!

Look at the amazing crowd of the evening!

It is a rare opportunity to have Naomi Price flying in from Australia to perform a musical on the inspirational journey of Adele Adkins from a young, ordinary girl to a superstar. Her voice is so beautiful that she can sing Adele’s song so well, and recreate the scene of Celine Dion singing Adele’s song in her show.

The musical is beautifully composed and synchronized with different melodies, especially the part where she incorporates parts of Spice Girls’ songs into the musical. The story-telling part is equally interesting and I love how it flows smoothly from the childhood background of Adele to her best album creations such as Adele 16, 19, 21 and 25.

In the black lace dress, Naomi has transformed physically to Adele’s iconic look. Added with her naturally witty and expressive character, her performance is fantastic for her humour and musical prowess.

When the top hits from Adele are played, the applause and cheers of excitement from the crowd overwhelm the entire theatre hall. The popular songs include:
Skyfall
Rolling in the Deep
Someone Like You (My personal favourite among all!!)
Set Fire To The Rain, from album 21
Hello, in her latest album 25

Other hit songs from the mega-platinum catalogue of songs which she performs include:
Rumour Has It
Hometown Medley
Chasing Pavements, Adele’s debut single when she was 19
Daydreamer
Send My Love to Your New Lover
Take It All
I’ll Be Waiting

It truly feels as if the actual Adele is performing right in front of my eyes.
Thumbs up to her world-class vocals!

For 2 hours, the theatre has transformed into a night of magic as the visual effects set in and the live bands with strings session take on the stage, giving an unforgettable spectacular visual and sound experience.

Joining the stage to celebrate the life and songs of Adele is the talented pianist cum music director, Michael Manikus from Australia, co-director Adam Brunes, violinist, cello, drummer and 3 Malaysian professional musical backing vocalists.

Verdict:
Definitely worth watching! It is a short show but I am truly satisfied with the performance by the lead, Naomi who really go deep into Adele’s life story and translate that into the show, plus her amazing team! With so many top talents from around the world, this musical celebration is truly an award-winning show.

Special thanks to Milestone Production for this lovely live entertainment experiences.
