Afternoon Tea at Sweet Hut Dessert House, KL

Sweet Hut is a sweetheart for those with sweet tooth. I remember it used to be my favourite hangout place during high school years. Now, years have passed but Sweet Hut has not changed much – it remains a popular dessert hut filled with desserts prepared with full of love and passion.

The dessert menu here probably has the greatest variety I have ever seen in a dessert house. From classic Chinese dessert soup and chewy sago desserts, to crispy waffles and Taiwanese snow ice, basically you can have everything under one roof.

Snacks

Cheese Chicken Toast (芝士鸡肉多士) @ RM11.80

Cheesy Chicken Balls and French Fries (芝士鸡粒伴薯条) @ RM9.50

Before going for the sweet treat, we also have some savoury snacks here as they serve deep-fried stuff and western main meal too. Our cheesy sandwiches are not bad, same goes to the crispy chicken balls and fries.

Classic Sweet Soup
Steam Aloe Vera with Egg White and Papaya (Cold) (芦苇木瓜双皮奶 - 冻) @ RM14.80

My Number 1 favourite item here is the chilled aloe vera and egg white served in a halved papaya. It is very soothing on the palate and I love the natural sweetness of the fruit. I totally didn’t expect the white creamy mousse to be steamed egg white actually; it’s sweet and creamy smooth!

Snow Ice Series
Mango Snow Ice (芒果绵绵冰) @ RM12.80

The other two cold desserts we have are definitely meant for the mango lovers. The Mango Snow Ice comes in a mountain of mango shaved ice, accompanied with chunky cubes of sweet mango fruit. Light and refreshing, it is great to cool the body during a hot day!

Sago Series
Fresh Mango Sago Pomelo Soup and Mango Ice Cream (杨枝金露伴雪糕) @ RM12.80

Similarly, the Mango Sago Dessert is a creamy concoction of ice cream, mango cubes, chewy sago and ice that mango fans would die for. I personally find it quite sweet for my liking.

Pastry
Portuguese Mini Tarts (5 pieces) (葡式蛋挞仔 - 5件) @ RM7.50

If you feel like having some hot pastry, why not try the mini Portuguese tarts? Soft on the outside, and silky smooth inside, it’s nice to nibble on this while chilling with friends.

With so many outlets all over Malaysia, I am sure you can easily head to the nearest Sweet Hut and enjoy the sugar rush to your content. Bon Appetit!
