Review: DISNEY x THE FACE SHOP Mono Pop Cute Eyeshadow Palette

[Limited Edition!] DISNEY x THE FACE SHOP Collaboration

Do you remember my review for the limited edition Disney BB and CC Cushion from The Face Shop? Yes, I am a huge fan of DISNEY characters! Also from the same series of Disney and The Face Shop’s collaboration, the eyeshadow palettes come out in three different types — Mickey Mouse, Winnie the Pooh, and Mike Wazowski.

Mickey’s version was already out of stock when I shopped for it at The Face Shop store, whereas Pooh and Mike are still up on the rack for grab. Anyway, I’m going to review just one of them…

DISNEY x THE FACE SHOP Mono Pop Eyes
#02. CUTE (Mike) Palette (9.5g)
RM94.90 (excluding GST)

The package cover in brown may not interest you, but the case of the eyeshadow palette itself is the bomb! Specially made for Mike’s fans, the cute little Mike is printed on the green-colored box and it is smiling at you!

Open the case and you will see the protective film with Mike’s footprints on it.
SUPER CUTE RIGHT!

It also includes a dual-tip brush that fits right inside —
One is soft pointed tip, while the other is wide enough for spreading.

Let’s take a look at the palette of warm hues — 8 different tones of blush, pastel glitters, coral and brown.

 Colour Swatch

The colours are pretty versatile. From the basic pink to shimmery gold shades, they are more delicate, suitable to create the sweet Korean look. Whereas the tonal browns towards the right are great for shading. With one palette, you can basically go all way out to a full innocent-looking makeup, or a natural shading makeup.

Beauty Tips: Remember to apply long wear primers to sustain eyeshadow shades.

Brown is extra useful to create the shiny, soft-looking liner on the eyes.
The last one on the right is rather dark and deep; Suitable for brows too.

While the tip of the brush is very convenient for touch-up on the go, I personally prefer using a full set of gentle and soft synthetic fibers eye brushes at home. It helps a alot to blend, pack, smoke out, draw and fill in the creases and brows.

For the brows, I fill them in with the matte brown color using the Brow Definer from Breena Beauty.

Texture wise, I am glad that it has a smooth powder consistency which glides smoothly on the skin. It is not as gelish as I'd prefer though. Nevertheless, I love the pair of fuller and thicker looking brows it creates.

I really love the three shades in the middle (Dusty pink, gold and coral)
which comes with shimmery finish. Perfect to brighten the pair of eyes.

Trying out the bright, shimmery orange with my Breena Beauty's Basic Eyeshadow brush.

Shimmery shadows come out gorgeous and really sparkly, however the sparkles fall off so be careful when you apply it! As for the color payoff, I find them rather light. But I love how the colors come alive upon layering.

Beauty Tips: Apply multiple layers / several time, for darker or more pigmented colors.

And the light gold suits as an undereye liner to brighten the eyes and create a more defined look,
especially for night makeup.

The final eye makeup look (with flashlight)
Shiny, and ready for party! :P

Verdict:
1. This K-beauty item is really cute and perfect for collectors or Disney lovers.
2. Content wise, it is pretty impressive, although I wish the sparkle will last longer.
3. Overall, this item is versatile for creating different makeup looks, especially for those who love delicate-looking eye lines.
