For a More Fulfilling 2018

HELLO 2018!  I hope this festive season has been wonder-filled for you. And now it's for a quick (okay, not so quick, because this post is going to be super duper lengthy and personal) wrap-up of the year.

Not sure if this is really the 9 best moments in 2017, but I am truly blessed to have yet another amazing year like this.

Firstly, it takes alot of courage for me to pen this down. I don't even know where to start.
Everyday seems to be the same. But when I look back, I realise one year can do so much to a person.

Every year around this time I'd do a "Year in Review" post, you can check out the rest of my posts in the past years here:
2017: Flashback: 6 months in 2017 (Jan-June)
2016: Another Step into 2017
2014: New Year Resolution in 2015 / It's a Wrap for 2014

So I realised my last personal update on this blog (when I say personal, it means really the private life of mine) was in the end of June. Now let's continue with a quick flashback of the second half of 2017.

JULY
Had a short weekend getaway to Genting Highlands in July.

July was the month I had a little achievement at work which I was really, really grateful for. I may not be the best employee in the team but I will strive to be a better one :)

*FYI  I have a full time job. For those who have always been asking me whether I will become a full-time blogger, the answer is No. For those who ask me to focus on my day job and quit blogging, the answer is, again, No. I am happy with doing a balance of both

AUGUST
Here come the very much-awaited trip to Sydney! It was an impromptu trip actually, I totally didn't expect this to be in my travel diary of the year. Although it was a short trip, I really enjoyed exploring this magical city during the end of winter season and hopefully I would be back to Australia next year for another adventure!

You can check out my Sydney travelogues here:

SEPTEMBER
September was a really hectic month for me to work, work and work. Totally couldn't recall what did I do during this month! How pathetic. And the month was also a disappointment because I skipped my annual island vacation. Not sure why it wasn't even in my travelling agenda this year, oh well shall replace it with one next year.

OCTOBER
Had a long weekend trip to Malacca in October.

October was the month in which darkness kicked in. It was the time when I started shutting myself down with so many emotions running rampant inside me. My mind was racing with countless thoughts and I felt so, so, so used. I just didn't want to remind myself how often the tears silently ran down my cheeks. Luckily I had my girlfriend by my side throughout the dark days  Just can't afford losing you, babe!

NOVEMBER

Thanks for the lovely bouquet during my birthday!

It was my birthday month and I had never felt so bad about celebrating it before. Thank you each and every one of my friends who brought me out for lunches, dinners, movies, etc. Thank you God for surrounding me with the kind souls that never leave me at my lowest point of the year.

November was the time of the year for our corporate annual dinner too. It marked my 20th month working with this bunch of lovely people, hopefully there will be more memories created with them in future

It was good to be different once in a while :)

November had changed me a lot, both in good and bad ways. I became more outgoing, more open to meeting new friends, more active in the blogging scene which translated to more late nights spent outside.

But all the drinking scenes you see on my social media were not exactly "me". People who know me well enough would know I am not that kind of person. Hopefully I can stay away from the drinking days in 2018 :P

DECEMBER
Finally, here come the beach getaway for the year!

You know how much I love island or beach vacations. Spending my long weekend in Desaru, Johor might not be the "ideal" beach holiday I dreamed for, but at least there were some soul-healing moments spent along the beach staring at the bright blue sky and dark starry night.

A short but memorable trip that helped me a lot in my healing process :)

The year then ended with a fangirl meet-up with my favourite blogger, DreaChong.

Year at a Glance 2017

Time for some personal words :)  *Please feel free to drag your cursor to the top right corner
and click "X" if you can't stand wordy wordy post*

Life is like a gift box Happiness does not depend on what we have, but it does depend on
how we feel towards what we have. We can be happy with little and miserable with much.

2017 has been a weird one, hasn’t it? For whatever reason, so many of us have had to cut connections with old friends, lovers and distance ourselves from toxic people. It always hurts to let someone go, be it a friend, family member or love; but if there’s one thing I have learnt this year, it would be being thankful for it. The universe will always guide you down the path you need to be on right now.

Believe me, you want to earn more $$$, to find your soulmate, to live in a fancy house, to buy more luxury stuff? Yet you are finding yourself crying through heartbreak after heartbreak, barely making ends meet and living somewhere you hate? It is for a reason. You will never appreciate the things you desire more than anything in life if you don’t experience struggle beforehand.

There are many things I want in life, but I have to trust the process and believe I will achieve those amazing things and meet those fabulous people one day. I realise, people are withdrawn from my life to make room for better people to replace them. There are only so many seats at my table for people who will stay and truly matter in my life. People will come and go, leaving lessons behind. After all, it is the process that matters. Whether the process leaves me broken or contented at different points of life, it always teaches me something that I can use in future. Remember to trust the process.

Feelings and people may be temporary. However, if you keep believing you will achieve that one thing you want more than anything, you will have it...one day. Trust me, keep going.

Honestly I am tired of the "New Year, New Me" kind of thing. No resolutions for 2018, because life is the best when it is most unexpected. May the upcoming year be filled with magic, achievements and good madness. And I hope somewhere in the next year, I would surprise myself with something big.

So.... What's Next?

Thank you everyone for supporting this blog www.ohfishiee.com and connecting with me via my Instagram (www.instagram.com/ohfishiee) and Facebook (www.facebook.com/ohfishiee)! I promise to continue creating more contents for you guys and doing something different in 2018 :)

[BEAUTY] Review: Klairs Korean Skincare Regime

Oh hello, my old skincare buddy, Klairs! ❤ Roughly 3-4 years ago, I used to own alot of Klairs products and my favourites were the Blemish Cream (makeup foundation) and Black Sugar Facial Polish (facial scrub). Until today, I am still a huge fan of Klairs and my current favourite is the cute Mochi BB Cushion.

This round, I have recently replenished my Klairs skincare collection directly from Korea. Let's check out my shopping haul from this Korean beauty brand...

Klairs Gentle Black Deep Cleansing Oil (150ml) @ RM99.00

To begin with, we always need a good cleanser before moving to all the skincare steps. Without a properly cleansed face, how can the good ingredients in the following skincare steps penetrate deep into the skin right? So I have this special cleansing oil that combines natural black grains such as:

❤ Black Bean Oil : Controls sebum production and increases skin elasticity
❤ Black Sesame Oil : Prevents dehydration and skin aging
❤ Blackcurrant Seed Oil : Strengthens the skin's protective layer and promotes cell regeneration

How To Use:
1. Massage over dry face from forehead to nose and cheeks
2. After massaging, do not wipe off with tissue but rinse off with lukewarm water for 2-3 times.
3. (Optional) You can use soap to wash away the remaining oil.

Texture: Oil-based fluid.
To be honest, I am not a fan of oil-based cleanser (except for makeup remover). However, I appreciate how well it cleanses off the dirt on the skin, but using a mild cleanser to remove the oil residue is a must for me.

Recommended for:
❤ Rough skin with blackheads and dead skin cells
❤ Dry or sensitive skin

By Wishtrend Pure Vitamin C 21.5 Advanced Serum (30ml)

I remembered trying this product before long time ago. Now the formula has been upgraded so I am tempted to try it out! The improved serum now has 21.5% of pure Vitamin C (last time only 20%), therefore it comes with better hydrating power, suppleness and absorption without any stickiness.

How To Use:
1. Press on the dropper and apply thin layer onto the skin.

Texture: Light and non-sticky.
Honestly, the texture has improved so much! Now it is very lightweight, non-sticky and spreads easily over the skin.

Result: Brighter, clearer skin.
It takes up to 14 weeks to see visible results on the skin if you have acne scars or dull, tired skin. The antioxidant-rich Vitamin C serum can help nourish the skin, boost moisture and brighten skin tone. The acne scars will appear less visible too.

*During hot weather, it is normal if the pure vitamin serum leaks out of the bottle.
Therefore, it is recommended to keep it in the fridge.

Recommended for:
❤ Oily or troubled skin
❤ Skin with acne scars or dull skin tone

Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin E Mask (90ml)

The KLAIRS Freshly Juiced Vitamin E Mask is most effective when used with vitamin C. It is a whitening sleeping mask for whitening, moisturizing and anti-aging benefits.

Vitamin C Drop + Vitamin E Mask = Perfect DIY Duo!

When Vitamin C and E combine, they enhance the effectiveness of each other through the antioxidant network and protect the skin from active oxygen, preventing aging. In addition, vitamin E prevents vitamin C from being oxidized before being absorbed by the skin, intensifying the skin-improving effects of vitamin C.

How To Use:
1. Apply thin layer over skin and wash off after 20 minutes.
2. Or mix the vitamin mask with the Vitamin C serum for an enhanced effect of additional brightening, wrinkle-repairing, and moisturizing with the antioxidant power.

*The mixing ratio can be adjusted freely depending on the skin type and desired texture of the product.

Texture:
The Vitamin E mask has a very unique “shape memory cream” texture which feels like pudding / custard. The pudding-like texture transforms into a rich serum-like essence when in contact with the skin, sealing the skin with moisture for at least 8 hours.

Recommended for:
❤ Dry, dull or tired skin.

Klairs Mochi BB Cushion SPF40 PA++

Lastly, Klair's most exciting product that I have been using is the limited edition Mochi BB Cushion. It is also Klair's all-time bestseller, because...nobody can resist such cuteness right? This is the third Mochi BB Cushion I have now -- You can tell how much I love it!

Comes together with the cute mochi puff applicator, the cushion is designed as a balm-type product rather than a liquid-based cushion. Therefore, the improved formula is better able to fill the pores and give a better coverage that lasts for the day.

Follow the above steps if you prefer maximum coverage with matte finish.

How To Use:
❤ (Easy) For hydrating and natural coverage: Simply use after opening
❤ (Moderate) For glow and more coverage: Use a cotton swab to press down the sponge for 1 minute to absorb the heavy balm-type formula to increase the coverage.
❤ (Difficult) For full coverage and very matte finish: Flip the sponge over before you start using the cushion.

Recommended for all skin types.

Color: Ideal for all
The cushion is available in only one shade i.e. apricot-beige that fits all skin tone. Whether you have yellow undertones or redness on the skin, it neutralises the color well and gives a natural brightened and healthy-looking coverage.

Result: Fairly good and natural coverage
I personally love the refreshing finish that it leaves on the skin. Coverage wise, it could be better but I like the lightweight texture that leaves the skin moist and breathable.

Overall Verdict:
If I were to recommend only one must-buy product, it would be the Mochi BB Cushion!
Klairs products are available at Hermo and several online shopping sites too.

Review: Contact Lenses Online Shopping Haul from Mr Lens

It's time for year-end shopping again! I haven't been shopping for contact lenses for so long now, but when I heard that MrLens is having plenty of irresistibly good deals on high quality contact lenses, how can I miss them!

MrLens is not something new to me as I had my first experience shopping with MrLens few years ago. With the wide varieties and amazing prices it offers, no doubt it has always been known as a reliable and quick online platform to shop for contact lenses.

If you do not already know, MrLens is currently Malaysia largest online contact lenses store offering a wide selection of major brands of contact lenses, prescription eyeglasses, sunglasses, branded and designer frames for both men and women.

This round, for less than RM300, I managed to get 6 pairs of monthly disposable colored contact lenses and 10 pairs of colored daily disposables. On average, each pair costs less than RM20, how amazing is that! Now let's check out my shopping haul...

Freshkon Colors Fusion
Color: Glittering Blue
Diameter: 14.2mm
Content: 2 pieces in a box

FreshLook Illuminate Dailies
Color: Rich Brown
Diameter: 13.8mm
Content: 10 pieces in a box

For travelling, usually I prefer daily disposable lenses (for better comfort and convenience) but at the same time, want the big-eye effect. So I have always been using FreshLook Illuminate Dailies, and now it is the best time to replenish my stock :P I am wearing it during my recent trip; totally natural-looking and eye-enlarging without compromising on the ultimate comfort.

One thing I love about the website is the quick and easy ordering process. I can easily search the product I want by brand, and choose my preferred lens color and power. Thumbs up to the speedy delivery too, my parcel arrives at my doorstep in just 2 days upon ordering.

If you are not a fan of Freshkon / FreshLook, Mr Lens also offers a wide variety of contact lenses too, such as Acuvue, Air Optix Aqua, Freshkon, Blincon, Biomedics, Magic, Igel, Focus Dailies, SofLens and Proclear etc.

Although I have only bought contact lenses from MrLens, I know that it also offers several major designer brands of sunglasses and frames such as Ray Ban, Maui Jim and Emporio Armani, as well as private label products at very competitive prices. Perhaps next time I should get a pair for myself!
