Review: Ombak Villa by Langkawi Lagoon Resort

Special thanks to Ombak Villa by Langkawi Lagoon Resort (www.langkawilagoonresort.com) for hosting us during our AirAsia sponsored trip to Langkawi. Although it is just a short 3-day-2-night stay, I am glad to call this villa as my home away from home.

Located about 10 minutes away from the Langkawi International Airport, it is so convenient to check in and rejuvenate right after we have landed. Arriving at the resort, I can feel tranquility and calmness in the air.

We are welcomed by an elevated reception lobby with open high ceiling volume overlooking the Andaman Sea. This place is so peaceful with a scenic landscape that offers great photo opportunities.

The captivating view from the lobby.

At the villa, there are 76 units of Ombak Suite, 2 units of extravagance Seroja Suite and one most luxury Villa Seri Kasturi. During our room tour, we visit the most luxurious villa here, and guess what, it has an in-room jacuzzi! How awesome is that, right?

Mine is just one of the most basic suites yet it is surprisingly luxurious and comfortable! My crib for two nights is located on the third floor of a block of beautiful traditional Malay chalet. I can’t imagine that it is so spacious, so well-equipped with all the amenities for ultimate convenience.

Tastefully designed with contemporary interior, the room includes 1 twin bed, 1 single bed, a spacious washroom with shower and bathtub, wardrobe, makeup table, long study table, and most importantly, a private verandah with lazy chairs for us to enjoy the sea breeze.

Overall, the spacious suite is perfect for the entire family.

The complimentary buffet breakfast is served from 6am till 10.30am daily with a fair spread of Asian and Western food.

How often do you get to enjoy your breakfast by the infinity pool while gazing the sunrise and baby blue skyline? Plus, the service here is extra good too, we can have buggy ferrying us from our rooms to the main lobby / restaurant each time we need to head out.

Be it the all-day dining restaurant, swimming pool, gymnasium or open courtyard, they are all connected to the lobby, making this centralised facility more convenient and easily accessible.

Bicycle rentals are available here too, if you want to take a quick ride out to the town.

Verdict:
1. Overall, my short stay here is pleasant-- Thumbs up to the spacious and clean room, great buggy services as well as strategic location.
2. Recommended for big families, honeymoon couples and business travelers.
3. If I were to have any complaint at all, it would be the weak Wi-Fi connection that provides irregular connectivity in different rooms (Perhaps I am just unlucky there!)
