Nuffnang Featured Blogger May 2014

May has begun with a pleasant surprise from Nuffnang!
Here's my article for the featured blogger of the month, and you can read it on Nuffnang website too :)

Hi! This is FiSh who lives in her ocean at www.OhFishiee.com. I’m currently pursuing an accounting degree under scholarship, and doing my internship as an auditor. My field of study may make me sound geek, but blogging has painted my life really colorful! 

Apparently this blog is not something fishy (Don’t worry!), 

in fact it is rather awesome because it now becomes the featured blog of the month! ;P

 “So why did you call yourself a fish?”, they asked.

(Because obviously I do not have big eye, duh!) 

Well, I’ve been getting the same question for 90275831 times, so now let me solve the puzzle in your mind! Let’s rewind to 22 years old, my parents gave this baby girl a name with initials of FSH. It took 15 years until this teenage girl had an idea of adding an “i” into the initials to form a “FiSH”, and she has been using this name since then. 

Here are some of the gadgets I can’t live without. Since young, I have developed a strong passion towards photography. And flip-screen camera is a must so that you wouldn’t forget how I look like! :P I picked up blogging since 2010 and my blog serves as a digital diary which I think I’d laugh at myself when I read about it 20 years later.

Blogging, to me, is indeed a valuable adventure. I didn’t know blogging can be a lucrative business until I met Nuffnang. I swear I leapt in joy when I earned my very first RM1 from Nuffnang. Well, money is good, but I’ve come to realize that friendships are the most precious assets in life.

I love instant prints! These are great memories of me making friends with bloggers, Nuffies, clients, PRs, brand personnels and even random kids during events. Despite of the long hours of facing computer and hectic days of attending events, blogging is rewarding when I get unconditional support from my readers ♥ I remembered the first time being approached by a reader in public and I was on cloud nine for days afterward. 

All thanks to Nuffnang, I was given the opportunities to attend exclusive events

and meet the top bloggers in Malaysia… 

Dessert is always my soft spot when it comes to food. 

The first time I started meeting people in the blogosphere was during food reviews in 2012. In fact, I have been actively attending food reviews since then, and people labeled me as a food blogger. If you’re looking for good food in town, come visit my blog! 

If you have been following me on Instagram, you’d know I love spending my spare time on food styling too! 

My blog doesn’t only focus on food, but also on beauty and fashion as well! Just like any other girl out there, I am also a beauty junkie but I rarely put on heavy make-ups. I love organizing the miniatures into boxes, while the rest are arranged in my beauty wardrobe. 90% of my contact lenses, perfume, skincare and makeup collections come from the generous sponsors I met through blogging. Thank you so much!

Herbal Essences Neo Gal Party

Hi lovelies! Just a quick post to recap my beautiful Sunday before I tend to forget all the fun and joy

when the week goes back to a hectic working Monday...

Thanks to Nuffnang and ChurpChurp, both of them invited me to the Herbal Essences Neo Gal Party at Signature, The Roof in 1 Utama. You can read my review HERE about this posh and romantic restaurant. So yeah I got two pairs of invites in total, meaning that I can bring 3 friends along! :D

The theme of the party is Neo Gal, meaning the latest fashion trend in Japanese--- something simpler than Harajuku, but still very chic in street style. The top Neo Gals brands include Emoda, Gyda, Evris, Resexy, Flove, Riveda and lots more.  

If you do not already know, Herbal Essences recently launches the Japan series for shampoo and conditioner that comes in two variants: Touchable Moisture Soft Lavender and Touchable Smooth Sweet Rose. Have you tried them yet?

At the entrance, the door gift is pretty unique! You can design your own goodie bag, and pick your favourite magazines such as Cosmopolitan, Mina and Vivi, as well as complimentary Nuffnang badges.

So pretty right!! I'm wondering who's the awesome party planner, because the place is beautifully decorated with pretty pink and soft purple shades that suit this all-girls party!

Time to pamper ourselves with basic manicure, DIY jewelleries and hair chalking :)

 

Cheesie was in charge of the "Sweet Like Cupcakes" station where we got to design our own cupcakes with plenty of colorful icing, beads, M&M, and mini flags.

Moving to the next part of the event, we had more fun activities at the lavender booth.

Just DIY my own floral hairband and got a sexy tattoo there!

The best part of the restaurant I love the most is the vintage lavender photobooth setup! 

It feels as if Herbal Essences has brought me to the lush lavender fields in France. So pretty right!!

 The party wasn't complete without the great performers and lovely music! :)

 .....not forgetting the awesome food--- Sandwiches, miniature burgers, salad, spaghetti and tiramisu cakes.

Happy Birthday 007 Nuffnang!

Happy Birthday Nuffnang!!! 

How fast time flies. Just a couple of weeks ago, Nuffnang celebrated its 7th birthday with its founder, lovely nuffies, advertisers and the fellow bloggers (me!). I remembered I first joined Nuffnang 4 years ago, and I leapt in joy when Nuffnang credited the first RM1 into my account. Haha. And my blogging journey with Nuffnang continued with plenty of excitements since then :)

The previous Nuffnang birthday bashes were usually held at night clubs, but this year we experienced something different. Our party venue sponsor, Barbecue Garden at KL Life Centre, (nearest Monorail station: Raja Chulan) is a rooftop restaurant overlooking the magnificent skyline of KL city centre.

At Barbecue Garden, you'll enjoy loads of fresh seafood and red meats, cooked to perfection according to your preference. Although the live grilling station was set up right in front of the customers, the ventilation there was pretty good, and I didn't feel stuffy at all :) 

Love the cozy ambiance with great lighting that makes pictures extra beautiful with lush greenery backdrop!

Uber gave FREE luxurious rides to some lucky guests that evening. By seamlessly connecting riders to drivers through Uber apps, all you need to do is to dress prettily, wait for the posh (Audi sports car, Mercedes, etc) car to arrive at your house, and enjoy the ride :) 

The Uber limousine was so punctual, and lots of people arrived early there.
Guests were then greeted by a bunch of Nuffies and the party goodie bags from Tokyo Ninki!

Corntoz was here to party too! 


Just next to the entrance, I wrote down my birthday wish to Nuffnang on the wishing tree.
May it grows bigger and brings more surprises to us each and every day! =P

Glad to see WOW Photobooth here again ^_^ It's by far, my favourite photobooth coz it gives unlimited number of large 4R prints to guests of the event. Yes, they even prepared special props to fit into the theme of the party. Let's pose for the best 007 look!

Met lots of good friends during the party! I don't remember when and where did we meet, but it must be some of Nuffnang events that bring us bloggers together. Thank you Nuffnang for the opportunity to be part of the blogger community here.

Did I forget to mention that the theme for this year's birthday bash is James Bond 007! 

 The lovely cupcakes are specially crafted by Forêt Blanc to suit the mysterious black and white Bond theme.

Besides having a buffet bar for the guests, Barbecue Garden was so kind to have an open grilling station that serves marinated spicy chicken skewers. The grilled stuff here are superb anyway, highly recommended for casual family dining or friends' gathering!

Hot and spicy chicken is best paired with beer ;)
