Review: VIKA DIY Your Own 3D Gel Nail Art

A big HELLO to VIKA! Welcome to Malaysia ♥ If you have not heard about this brand, it is a Korean gel nail specialist that carries amazing range of nail stickers so that you can create your very own gel manicure and pedicure without having to visit a manicurist! 

Special thanks to Seeties and VIKA for having me at the high tea party where we girls do our own manicure with the help of our boyfriends! Yes, VIKA gel nail stickers are SO easy to DIY that even guys can do it :D Cool right? 

This is my first time using nail stickers to create 3D Gel Manicure! VIKA has plenty of designs from pastel to gothic theme, all of them are very stylish and beautifully designed to fit Asian's nail sizes. 

Here are some of the samples of the nail art stickers. Spot your favourite before you do your nail jam!

On top of the stickers, you can attach various types of nail art embellishments for the 3D effect such as mini rhinestones, ribbons and diamantes, before finishing it off with another layer of protective gelish top coat.

For gel manicure with 3D nail art, I usually go to nail parlours to get my nail fix. But at VIKA, everything is DIY and it has its very own range of tools and accessories that you may find them useful while crafting your nail art.

Manicure Kit: Cuticle Oil, Pusher, Nipper, Grinder, Nail File, Shiner, Nail Tonic (Strengthener)

This is the design of nail jam I pick ♥ Pastel pink, mint and yellow with a splash of elegant gold design! My partner in crime says this pattern is just so ME because I usually fall head over heels in love with sweet-looking manicure. 

Each set of nail jam comes with 25 pieces of nail stickers (14 for fingernails, 11 for toenails) of different sizes (from 8 to 15). I use size 8 for my pinky, and size 13 for both thumbs. If your nails are too small (like mine), you can also trim the sides of the stickers to fit right onto the nails. 

You must be wondering how did I manage to do the gel manicure with nail art all by myself, although I have no skills at all. Actually, the whole process is really simple and you can easily complete all 10 fingernails in 1 hour once you've mastered it. 

Step 1: Apply nail tonic/ strengthener....let it dry for 30 seconds

Step 2: Stick the nail art sticker and stretch it well so that it does not crumple

Step 3: File the excess away using VIKA's hot pink file *Looks so cute right!* 

Step 4: Apply Gel Top Coat 

Step 5: Lamp Light Curing: ♥ My favourite product of VIKA!

Do you know that UV Light can cause skin cancer when it is used to dry nails? Most of the time, nail parlours choose UV Light because it is cheaper and suits all types of gel polish. But in a long term, I personally don't recommend this method.

I am delighted that VIKA also has its own lamp, which uses LED instead of UV. It gives equally powerful curing, but more eco-friendly and uses less energy. With the USB port in it, you can easily use a power bank to turn the light on. 

It is surprising that the lamp works just by touching it! Once you touch the tip of the lamp, it will light up for 30 seconds and automatically turn off. After curing the nails, the surface of the nail is completely dry, smooth and well-protected with a thick gel coating. 

Step 6: Finally, don't forget to wipe the residue using VIKA Cleansing Wipe!

Removal Kit: Nail File, Remover Band, Remover, Pusher, File, Shiner

For removal, nails and fingers soaked in strong acetone can be harmful to the skin, hence VIKA has its special removal kit where you can easily remove the gel manicure in a safer way :)

Verdict:

#1 From the application to removal, the nail jam is so convenient, quick and easy to use. The best part is, I can do my nails anywhere I want. Just grab a powerbank and the LED light, gel manicure can be done within minutes!

#2 Love the super glossy finish and longlasting effect up to 3 weeks! 

#3 Rating: 5/5 ♥ Worth a revisit? Definitely I'd be back for another design!

Anyway, after a brief product preview, let's get back to the workshop. That's really a lot of us!

We began with the skincare session: Cleanse - Tone - Moisturize - Serum - Sunscreen

And not forgetting to pamper ourselves with Anew White Dual Sheet Full Face Mask!

Soft and smooth on the skin, the intensive whitening treatment mask gave a very soothing feeling. All you need to do is to leave it on for 15 minutes, and use it twice a week to achieve the best result of reducing dark spot and enhancing radiance.

Make sure your face is cleansed before applying the mask!

While others were prepping the skin, Amelie and I were busy camwhoring :P

After applying sunblock, it was time for make-up! We were glad that the celebrity makeup artist, Najeeb Azami was here to share his beauty tips and tricks to enhance the complexion with a natural, no-make-up look! :D

Step by step guide by Najeeb: - Foundation - Concealer - Powder - Eyeshadow - Eyeliner -

Mascara - Eyebrow Liner - Blusher - Highlighter - Lip Liner - Lip Stick -

Yay! I love playing with colours! 

AVON Ideal Luminous Cashmere Advanced Foundation was light and not so creamy, just nice to give a fairly good coverage on the skin with a very moist texture. For deep dark circles like mine, the concealer worked perfectly on my undereyes. 

Then finished off my foundation with AVON Ideal Luminous Dual Powder Foundation.

Comes in 4 shades (Natural Beige, Nude, Pure Beige and Shell) to suit Asian skintone.

Next, let's move on to the eyes. Under the latest range of Over Nature Makeup Collection, AVON has two types of makeup palette --- Ocean Flower for the day, and Garden Voyage for the night. 

Look at the beautiful package! It feels like summer now ^_^ 

Inspired by nature, this is the very first palette by AVON with floral components. 

Love the pretty vibrant colors for eyes, cheeks and highlights in the chic paper palette!

Don't forget your mascara too!

As for the lips, the latest collection introduces a full range of Ultra Color Rich Over Nature Lipstick. From coral to deep red, the lipstick comes with 8 intense colours in a blossom paper package.

My fave is N12 Tropical Coral which gives a vibrant pink-orange shade for a younger, more energetic look!

For extra shine and moisture, I usually prefer using AVON Ultra Glazewear Lip Gloss.

The colours are just lip-smacking hot!

What do you think about my MOTD? :D It's not my usual makeup look, as I seldom wear bold lipstick. But thank you people who commented on my Instagram (@ohfishiee) that the makeup looks great!

Cake Deco DIY @ Cake Sense TTDI

Speaking of Cake Sense, it reminds me of my memorable birthday few years ago with its best-selling Mango Yoghurt Mousse Cake. In fact, I am a huge fan of their desserts such as oreo cheese cake and New York red velvet. If you're a cocoa lover, you'll die for their rich chocolate cake too.

Established in December 2005, Cake Sense has been my family and friends' favorite since they opened an outlet near my house. Today, the business has expanded into over 12 outlets around Klang Valley, all conveniently located within shopping malls and neighbourhood.

Recently Cake Sense has just launched a new experience by offering customers a chance

Feeling that the conventional cakes are too boring? Now you can create the cake of your dreams! Given a plain cake, you can top it with your favourite decorations and write your personalized message on the cake. In short, just DIY your very own birthday, seasonal and specialty cakes.

The cake comes in two sizes: 5" at RM35, and 7" at RM50, each inclusive of a choice of three (3) types of condiments / toppings. If you want your cake to be more fancy, each additional type of condiment will cost RM1.50. 

For special toppers, it ranges from RM2.50 to RM15 depending on the size and type.

4 simple steps to design your own cake: Choose, Sprinkle, Craft and Top It!

Step 1: Choose Your Cake: Chocolate or Vanilla Sponge flavours at the size of 5" or 7" 

Step 2: Sprinkle It: Pick 3 types of condiments of your choice

The bottles lining up along the shelf are the condiments available at Cake Sense. 

From the selection of 24 types, I'm sure you'd find your favourite there!

The condiments come in various colours, shapes, and sizes. 

Love the colorful beads, chocolate rice and jelly beans!

Step 3: Craft It: You'll be given 3 colours of cream to draw / write onto the cake.

Step 4: Top It: Add on the special toppers (Flowers and flags) for a prettier party look!

marshmallows and colorful beads, the cake looks so dreamy and adorable right?

Here are some of the condiments we pick to decorate 6 whole cakes!

And I picked red hearts, silver beads and chocolate rices for my 'romantic' chocolate cake :)

Just some tips to share with you guys. Always begin with the side, where I choose to wrap my cake with colorful beads. Moving on to the topping, you can sprinkle the condiments and pipe the coloured (and edible!) buttercream icing to draw onto the cake.

I had fun decorating the cakes with the fellow bloggers! The satisfaction of designing a cake specially for your loved ones is indescribable :) And I'm surprised that the process of decorating was pretty quick. For a good 15 minutes, I believe you'd be able to decorate it beautifully. 

Premade designs are also available in the house. Look at the Lemon Sky Ruffle (RM80) done by the pastry chef at Cake Sense! The beautiful ruffled icing design is so detailed and I love its soft vanilla sponge cake layered with thick lemon chantily cream.

Parents' Day is around the corner, don't wait to create a heartfelt cake for your beloved mother and father during this special day! You may bring your kid there to have fun too :)

Cheese To Bar: French Cheese Avec Des Fruit

Browsing through the shop, I spotted another favourite of mine! Cheese lovers would definitely enjoy this rich decadent cheese stick layered with cookie crust. It looks like a miniature New York cheese cake to me, so cute yet compact =) 

Anyway, if you're looking for a memorable celebration with your family and friends  be it birthdays or special occasions,
