Bonjour Garden Bakery Cafe @ The Intermark, KL

If you are in the mood for a hearty, creative and down-to-earth authentic French-Japanese bakes,  the perfect place to go is the Bonjour Garden, the latest lifestyle garden concept bakery and cafe serving a unique selection of confectionery items, pastries, mains and coffee made with the high quality ingredients from Japan.

During my recent visit to Bonjour Garden's fifth outlet at The Intermark, I was attracted by the laidback atmosphere reflected through the Parisian garden concept decor that included dainty ornaments, Parisian memorabilia, artifacts and other simple adornments. Being a great hideout from the concrete jungle, how I'd wish I could spend every weekend morning at such a casual, charming  and pleasantly unpretentious cafe.

Bonjour Garden is also available at Kota Damansara, Bukit Jelutong and Mutiara Damansara.

With the menu concept revolving around 3 key elements - Healthy, Creativity and Japanese Chefs - one just can't go wrong with the most sought-after breads and pastries here. The concept of combining French culinary inspirations and Japanese skills would impress both young and old.

From all the items on display, you can enjoy distinctive flavours and right-out-of-the-oven freshness.

I couldn't resist myself from taking pictures with the rustic and chic modern background.

[Bestseller] Croissant @ RM2.50

[Bestseller] Caramel Cheese Raisin Butter Roll @ RM2.80

Within each butter roll lies a thick layer of caramel cheese and bits of raisin. Topped with crushed
pistachio, one can savor the softness of the bun and creamy cheese layer that melts in the mouth.

 Ciabatta @ RM6.00 // Pain de Campagne @ RM5.80

Being a bread person, I would enjoy even the plainest hearty natural dough with wholemeal and rye. They were naturally flavoured and rich in aroma too. Crispy on the crust, the soft and fluffy bread inside was beautiful when paired with assorted cheese.

[Bestseller] Levain Cranberry Cheese @ RM18.20 (Whole Loaf)

With pistachios and cranberries folded into a naturally leavened dough, this signature bread was great for those who love exploring different textures and tastes. The generous amount of cream cheese definitely made it a heavenly toast.

We were lucky to have the true-blood Japanese culinary master, Chef Yukichi Matsubara
who was the Head Chef and Managing Director there, for a ciabatta baking demonstration.

Using the top notch Japanese Torigoe Flour as main ingredient, Chef also explained that the process of dough fermentation alone already took 12 to 15 hours. That makes this artisan bread a masterpiece to die for.

The space at Bonjour Garden was specially designed into a full-fledged cafe so that people can eat, linger and get inspired here. Being a perfect haunt for mid-morning brunches, quick business lunches and hearty dinners, here you were spoilt with choices of more than 40 varieties of main dishes.

Considering the quality and location, the dishes here are pretty affordable.

Here are 5 of the bestselling dishes we managed to sample.

[Bestseller] The Pacific @ RM18.00

Norwegian smoked salmon and herb cream cheese served with
arugula, walnut and dried cranberry, dressed in lemon vinaigrette.

The petite version of The Pacific was equally good too!

[Bestseller] Miniature Chicken Crisp Sandwich @ RM15.00 (Full Portion)

Marinated leg of chicken coated in a crispy batter sandwiched between Tiger bun.

[Bestseller] Miniature Oriental Pizza @ RM24.00 (Full Portion)

Smoked duck breast and Golden Lily mango drizzled with balsamic glaze and topped with chervil.

Wild Mushroom Soup @ RM10.00

Extra creamy, rich and perfect for any hungry soul.

Bonjour Garden takes pride of its array of sweets too. Apart from the 30 varieties which are currently in the menu, recently it introduces the latest Christmas-themed cakes.

One of the star product was Mont Blanc Christmas Log Cake, and there the Pastry Chef Shigeru Hashizume surprised us with his skills of transforming a plain log into a beautiful festive dessert.

Mont Blanc Whole @ RM65

Smooth and creamy on the inside, the chocolate cookie garnish on the sides gave a pleasant crunch.
This cake was a beautiful surprise for me, as it was not too cloying for my liking.

Japanese Strawberry Shortcake @ RM85

Many say Japanese can do amazing things with cake and pastry, and I couldn't agree more with this statement as soon as I tried this strawberry shortcake. Beautifully layered with strawberries and whipped cream, I love the Japanese sponge cake the most--- It is so light, airy and not overly sweet.

Christmas cakes are available only through reservations. Psst...Good news for early birds!
You can enjoy 15% discount for reservations made between 1-30 November

Priced between RM4 to RM8, other desserts seem to be a great bargain in town.

Thank you Chef Darren Chin, Head Chef Yukichi Matsubara, Chef Shigeru Hashizum for the treat!

.....thank you to the team, and I'll definitely be back for more =)
